Most definately one of the absolute best D20 books going... The TNE setting was (and still is) my favorite Traveller setting. Though this supplement contains some major changes to my much beloved TNE, its presentation, thoughtfull development, and level of detail makes this a worthy successor to the fabulous TNE of old. I would have done some things differently... I would have included some variant possibilities... I would have advanced the timeline in a completely different way... All of this does not matter in the end. TNE is back and it is back with a vengence. If you love Traveller, buy this book! If you love TNE, buy this book! If you HATE Traveller, buy this book! Wow...! I really didn't expect this level of satisfaction. I am unimpressed with the D20 Psionics system (how, exactly, is it any different from magic...?) The core system does not lend itself to giving a unique feel for psionics and it makes it impossible to import the system into a truly futuristic campaign. Mindscapes succeeds in just about all respects. Psionics finally FEEL unique.<br><br> <b>LIKED</b>: The supplement gives you a sense of how psionics should "feel" in any campaign (past, future, modern, or fantasy).<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: A little short for the subject matter being presented. Further supplements are a must.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Excellent<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Very Satisfied<br>

Absolutely excellent! The "Elements of Magic" series of books are the essential resources for a true magic system. With this expansion, the magic can be brought more easily into a D20 Modern or D20 Future campaign. I continue to be amazed by the scope, yet simplicity, of Elements. I just wish EN would continue (books of Epic Spellcasting, Spell Books, Magic Item Books, etc., etc.). The is a very detailed and imaginative setting. Unfortunately, the requirement to learn an entirely new magic system turned me off. There's too much d20 out there already without having to study prior to play. As a setting, 4 out of 5... Overall, I can't go better than 3.

WOW! This (along with San Angelo) is by far one of the best settings I have ever seen. Rich detail, interesting characters, multi game system stats... This one is worth every penny!
