What a great addition to add to your game. This product is well done and professional. The new monsters will really add a lot to throw at your players. Well worth the price!

I am currently running Descent into Avernus, so this bestiary was a fantastic addition to my collection. The monster are extremely interesting and fresh, not re-hashes from older editions of the game. I absolutely love the addition of two monsterous lairs to easily toss into my campaign. The black and white art format is a real throw back to the old school stuff and fits well. Make sure to pick this up if you want to assault your players with fiends from the nine hells!

For me, the best supplements are the straight-forward ones that you can sit down and use immediately. No preparation required. This is one such supplement. You can read it ahead of time if you want. It’s actually not a bad idea so you can plan encounters accordingly. But if your players happen to already be chumming around in Hell or the Abyss, then this bestiary can also help you with some ad hoc encounters as with Stygian Dragons or Avernian Leeches. Simply put, it’s teeming with thematic monsters who may or may not be directly involved in the Blood War. Regardless of their loyalties and devotion, these monsters can either help or hinder the PCs’ progress depending on what kinds of unlikely alliances the players are receptive to.

Blood War Bestiary is a great collection of fiends, abberations, and even celestials to enhance the infernal flavor of your campaigns! Each creature's CR is indicated in the index, so you can quickly skim the list for the right monsters. Right out of the gate, the Avernian Leech is a great low level bloodsucker to give your tier one party a break from Stirges; Aschimu-demons' drive to ruin all things beautiful could make them the center of a destructive whodunnit; the Filth Imp is a perfect new name for my cat; and the Infernal Attorney is a fantastic concept in a world of diabolical contracts! More than a bestiary, this supplement includes some villians and lairs to inspire a hellish adventure, and NPC stat blocks to bring your fiendish campaign to life.

Unlike most compendium products featuring numerous artists, the range of styles work well together because of the grayscale palett (though the lack of full-color images could be a turnoff to some readers), and I appreciated the artists being credited for their individual pieces, as well as the about-the-author snippets. The formatting is professional and consistent with the infernal theme. My only critique is that I can't get a print copy to keep next to Mordenkainen's Tome Of Foes!

Bestiaries are my bread and butter, I flipping love bestiaries. Combine that with a bestiary themed around infernal and demonic creatures? - well take my money. This takes so much inspiration from a ton of different mythologies, legends, and stories, and I love that so so much - cause all the new demons, devils, angels, and abominations within the pages of this sucker are new and original. They aren't reskins, revamps, or redos - they are all-new and all-awesome. I really love the Stygian Dragon - definitely my top monster from there - but it also allows for so much new creative fun in games beyond what is in the devils and demons section of the Monster Manual. And with a bunch of original art and excellently crafted stat blocks, I cannot wait to pit my players against them.

This is one of the best monster guides I have seen on the guild. It was a fun, entertaining read. It is not just creatures from older editions updated, These are new monsters all themed to the hells and abyss. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs more monsters. The lairs and NPCs are a bonus treat that adds to what makes this a must have for all DMs! An all star cast brings an all star product.
