I really loved this supplement, the thing that struck me is how the two authors did not create a handful of objects that give +1 to one and +1 to that other with high-sounding names, but instead wanted to donate to each object particular effects. Among these magical objects it is possible to find really everything, from shields that "charm" to potions that make you dream your desires. These items are perfect for surprising players, whether you have them found inside a treasure chest or want to make the PCs sweat for them, placing them in the hands of the opponents in the group, for use against them. before they can be conquered. The objects are first presented in 3 tables to divide them into Common and Uncommon, Rare and Very Rare, Legendary, while subsequently they are listed in alphabetical order in order to be easily found when needed. The spells section also offers a rich list for almost all classes: Druid, Ranger, Wizard, Cleric, Sorcerer and Warlock all receive 6 to 4 new spells. Spells make the sense of uniqueness of magic really good, giving strange but useful effects, such as Batlearms that makes you grow 2 more arms to attack enemies, or Seek the Stream, very useful for finding drinking water and orienting yourself. Here too we have a division that resembles that of the Player's Handbook, with the spells first divided by class lists and then shown in alphabetical order with the explanation. The entire supplement was created with Homebrewery, a faithful tool of many creators, but with a modified layout to be much more elegant than other products created with the same medium. The images are those made available by the DMs Guild, but the fact remains that some, especially those made by Dean Spencer, are really very evocative. In any case, they are all well positioned and fit very well with the description of the magical items they have been associated with. Vault of Magic is a very interesting product for those players and DMs who are no longer enough with the items presented in the Dungeon Master's Guide and want something different and unique for their campaign. By purchasing this product you will receive an avalanche of magical items with unique properties that will really make you feel the sense of magic within your campaign.

Pros:

  • Over 50 new magic items and over a dozen new spells.
  • Tons of great item and stock art.
  • Excellent layout and organization.

Cons:

  • Most magic items simply grant the use of a spell.
  • Questionable rarity balance for items.
  • Most spells are extremely situational.

THE VERDICT: EXCELLENT ART AND PROFESSIONAL LAYOUT ELEVATE THE OTHERWISE BY-THE-NUMBERS MAGIC ITEMS FOUND IN VAULT OF MAGIC.

What a nice little product! I mean, who doesn't need more magic items and spells in their games?! There WILL be an item in this beautifully-made product that fits your needs.

The layout is easy to read, and gorgeous to look at. The cover art is evocative, and the interior art is very well done. They really bring the items in text to life. My hat is off to you, Mr. Bertini!

Mr. Fossati did a great job creating unique items with a wide variety of powers and utility. There are items for low-tier characters, and for your high-level characters. I wish there were more "types" of magic items, but I am sure that will be taken care of in "Vault of Magic II".

This is a no-brainer purchase, and will make a beautiful addition to your D&D resources!

This piece is absolutely a great supplement for the existed magic items & spells!! Although i feel like some items are quite overpowered, it's the DM discretion to balance it. Can't wait to try these with my friends!! Keep up your good work

A fun and balanced supplement with spells and magic items that you'll want to add to your games. Production quality is also top-notch. What more can I say? You can't go wrong with picking this up!

I'm impressed! This is very well put together. There are some 'minor' errors (from the writers, these will be corrected in the next patch) but this didn't detract from my deserving 5-star rating!

The items are well constructed, with something in here that everyone will find useful. I don't believe them to be OP but each DM to their own.

There is enough variety in the new spells that will see many of them used within play (I'd suggest surprising your players with them used by an NPC during play first, just to keep them guessing (evil grin)).

Well worth the money paid and looking forward to more from these authors in the coming future!

I really enjoyed reading this supplement. Some of the magic items seem a little overpowered. Also some of the spells are very strong. All in all a very good supplement.

Nice variety. A good collection of unique spells and magic items to add some variety to my game without overpowering things.
