Hello Drifters game workshop,
The imagination, and creatiivty of these three volmes is over the top. The backgrounds, the feat, and proficiency (harvesting kit) go alongway to filing out the characters, even if they are NPC's. Harvesters fill an important part of the economic/suply chain of magic items that is has not recieved enough attention (in my opinion).
These are wonderful imagination engines, they provide a structure in which one can create a believable NPC,or add on to a PC to make their 'hobby' or 'avocation' lots more fun to role play.
Voume 2 introduces hamunds have nots,which are small plot stories,and hooks that can help a DM fill out a towns help wanted board. The encounter ideas are sorted by CR number, which is just brilliant.
IF you ever revisit the Hamunds' Harvesting series. My one request is that you make the page numbers darker and thus easier to read.
I realy enjoy these volumes a great deal. I am looking forward to getting the herbs book soon.
