Ran this one-shot for a four player party for christmas, we all had a blast. Somehow we ended up creating an overarching plotline that ended with the final scenario being unforgettable for all of us, so for $4.99, this felt like a steal.

Just wanted to let you know that I found a typo that is not in line with all the intentional typos:

On page 5. The Kobold says the line: "The number of huaman commoners", which I assume is supposed to just be human commoners, unless I missed a joke of some sorts.

Anyhow, great one-shot, would recommend it to anyone looking for a evening filled with absurd comedy!

I decided to run this guy as a surprise one shot for my players since they have an unnatural obsession with trying to tame every kobold they meet. It's been the whackiest session we've had to date and even though they gleefuly murdered each other only to end up having their tiny head's explode there was not a single moment when laughter wasn't happening. This had definite been one of the best purchases I've made this year.

I will definitely be running Killer Kobolds again in the future.

PS: They learned nothing from the experience and continue to attemped to tame Kobolds.

I hardly have the word to describe how ridiculously fun this adventure was to run! Must I say more than this was a chaotic, explosive, and just outright silly adventure. My virtual table loved every minute of the 3 hour session, even when mishaps and mistakes were made. The objectives are simple, the weapons are out of this world, and the kobolds aren't smart! This is a perfect storm for an exciting few hours of fun.

Killer Kobolds from Outer Space is brilliant! This is a polished product with great B-movie comic style art, well designed scenarios, and a useful 'phone ready' pdf you can provide your players to choose the type of kobold they want to be.

My friends had a blast being murder hobos the last time I ran this. I put them through the first two scenarios; they spent the whole afternoon laughing our heads off. I can't wait to run this again for them!

Killer Kobolds? Yip! From Outer Space?? Yip Yip! In Komic Book Form!?! Yip Yip Yip!

I grabbed Killer Kobolds for those times when your normal campaign session can't go on for one reason or another, but the guys still want to play DnD... because of course they do, I mean, who wouldn't? Right from the word go, mayhem ensued.

Mission 1: Fuel for the Engine-Gods

First turn one of the guys sets off an Astrobaroviometer right in the middle of town... Yip! The same town that they were in to try and harvest bio-fuel. It was now a race to harvest the fuel before the Storm finished them off! Needless to say, the Kobolds failed that mission as they were all reduced to piles of acidic goo. The Kween was most upset and exploded 4 random Kobolds on the ship for good measure.

Mission 2: Kobold Kill Kount

Goes off to a flyer, one kobold gets 7 kills off the bat by tossing a pressure cooker into a group of villagers, which is quite rude if you ask me, they were just sharing stories about their crops!

The same guy that caused the failure of mission one steps up, a wicked grin on his face... He wants the win, and boy is he going to get it! He steps back, away from the group, pulls out his Not A Bomb, and tosses it at Not A Villager, but his own team mate, the Firestorm kills all his team members, plus five villagers for a total of 9 kills... Kween did not specify that the kills needed to be Villagers, so this abnormally smart Grey Kobold got the win!

The guys had a blast with this product and I reckon they'd want to play it again in the future, so in my opinion, well worth the $8.00 NZ price tag!

How does one simply review something like this?Do we see the Mona Lisa and simply say that enigmatic smile eludes to so much more than we, the viewer could possibly imagine? Do we pretend to understand the violent passion and exquisite lust in the stanzas of Byron and Keats? Can we dare to dream of seeing David through the eyes of Michelanglo, or are we mere mortals left wondering at the luscious locks of his mons pubis? To review Killer Kobolds from Outer Space, one has to try to understand it, to comprehend even the most fleeting of glimpses into the mind of Oliver Clegg, the soul of deathbybadger. Is he a messy bitch who loves drama? Certainly. But there is so much more to this talent whose mortal frame must be stressed at the seams to contain the soul du artiste that dwells in his breast, alights through his fingers. Is it possible to know the man, who is not even a man, more a force of creativity; an entity of pure inspiration?I doubt it. But I know that we will tell our children that we lived through a time when works of art like this were being created. I think we all felt it, an electric, orgiastic frisson when this work of art was published. I am not ashamed to say I wept; for joy certainly, but with sadness for an innocence lost, knowing something in the very fabric of the human condition had be irrecoverably changed forever. Is this a self contained concept for adventures with variaty of picayune dragonfolk with a myriad of whimsical contrivances from an unknown space beyond our comprehension intent upon the annihilation or reaping of life as we know it? Or is it a meta-thesis on what it is to human? To err, to accumulate, to destroy. There is certainly a plentiful plethora of exultation this piece can elicit, not least from the comical conceit of a comic, and the layout and illustration within. But reading through this magnum opus, I cannot escape la petite mort knowing that this is as close as I shall ever come to truly feeling alive.I yip, therefore I yip.

I enjoy many things in life - good slapstick comedy, comic books, RPGs, tacos, a peaceful thunderstorm. Well, what Oliver has put together with Killer Kobolds from Outer Space hits on three of my favorite things - perhaps even tacos, although I don't know how irradiated kobold would taste. Anywhose, this adventure book is fantastic: both beautifully laid out in comic book panels, looking like a hybrid between Aquisitions Incorporated, the card game Sentinels of the Multiverse, and all the cheesy 50s/60s sci-fi movies.

It both pokes fun at classic fantasy RPG tropes, the B-movie crazy of the mid and late 1900s, and functions as a high-level comedic adventure series. But what I really love about this little gem is that I see it as a perfect introduction for kids into RPGs - maybe even adults or teens. With so much kobold katastrophe klapped into twenty-two kicktastic pages, it's a wonder this little time bomb ain't flying off the digital racks.

Only played the first scenario so far but I already know enough to know that it deserves five stars. Let's run down the checklist, shall we?

  • Art: phenomenal
  • Gameplay: ridiculous
  • Comedy: off the chain
  • Scenario: so good
  • Kobold: Kobold

If I had any possible complaint it would be that the base game doesn't include too much in the way of variety for houses to go into, but our DM was able to whip some quick stuff up with less than a day's notice, and it's definitely not enough to take points off for it.

In conclusion: GET THE GOOOOOOO

Final rating: 11/10 dead Kobolds

This title is the kind of thing you encounter only a few times in your life and wonder how on Earth you managed to live to this point without it.

Oliver Clegg has consistently demonstrated that he's one of the most creative minds on the Guild, and Killer Kobolds from Outer Space continues to prove it. The adventure is presented like a comic adaptation of a campy B-movie, making it not only as hilarious for the DM as it is for the players, but also making it easy to follow.

The real strength of this title, though, is that it doesn’t just give you a single serving of glorious kobold mayhem, but it includes FIVE self-contained encounters. All comfortably spread out in 22 pages and an absolute steal for paltry things like dollars and cents.

If I had one critique, and it is a very minor one, it’s that the kobold stats and equipment (‘kontraptionz’) aren’t presented in a printer-friendly manner. You can print out the pages, but they're in full colour, meaning everyone has to have a turn copying stuff out of the document or the DM has to write it all out themselves beforehand. I am calling this a minor critique because it does provide an excuse for the players to enjoy the wonderful art. All the same, maybe a separate file with printer-friendly stats could be attached in the future to really make running this title’s scenarios as simple as sitting down and pulling out a few pages.

Congratulations, Oliver, on yet another fantastic product!
