Very unique and original Arcane Backgrounds. Astral Channel is my favorite (having to be asleep to use powers).
The powers are also good, some quite unique.

Astral Channeling is definitely one of the ones we've enjoyed messing with the most. We really like the idea of having two different planes of play where the characters can't directly interact with one another but can still do things to aid the other. Astral Channeling was incredibly fun to playtest and I honestly can't wait to put out the finished PPC that utilizes it. Glad you liked it! |

Simple and Straight forward items for improved weapons and equipment. Very useful.
How much or strong a good quality or magic item is, is based on cost (which is not my preference) but it works!
Clear, easy to read. Great work, great job!

Interesting articles. I wish they would go more in depth, but they are of reasonable length for magazine articles.
The Savage Worlds Adventure Edition implementation is weak. e.g. the Undead ability of the Dhampir is quite different from SWADE core (ignores all Wounds penalties instead of just one, missing the "no eat no breathe", "immunity to poison/disease" and "don't bleed out/magic healing only" parts) and Great Strength should have mentioned an increased maximum. The Animal Companion Edge refers to the Defend action granting +2 Parry (like in Deluxe) while in SWADE it's +4.
The NPC are still useful to be slotted into your games.
6$ for the 50 pages of articles and 8pages of SWADE conversion are a good price. Yet the content isn't as good as I wished it to be.

Excellent book! The product is pleasant and easy to read. Layout and art are just gorgious. Rules are clear and precise.
A fantasy setting for the last edition of Savage Worlds? Nice! But I never played the Mario settings. Will I still be able to play the setting?
Yes, indeed!
Sure, there are some elements that reminds me of what I saw/heard of the video game, but the setting also feels like its own thing that can be played without any reference to the game. It sounds like a gentle, poetic fantasy, with room for epicness and heroism.
Great work!

just a list of 102 names, nearly no description, and no details at all. too bad. I expected more. 1$ is a bit too much just of a list of names.

Six pages of good content. A complete Arcane Background for Shadow tricksters/assassins, with new powers and slight variations of existing ones to perfectly fit Shadow Manipulation.
I love the few proverbs in there, they put you into the shadow assassins' skin :)

Excellent writing!
I didn't exactly know what to expect, as I wasn't particularly convinced myself by the Specialization Rule. But Donovan's work enlightened me, I am now ready to use Specialization where it matters. It also clarified a few points about Familiarization. Very well thought out, very good examples.
A must have for Worlds/Settings Builders.

Very good quality as usual with HeroicMaps. I used them in Roll20, they look fantastic. I had to manually resize (divided by 5) and I have to use ALT to place them because the walls around are not a full grid square (and Roll20 snaps to grid by default). Happy with my purchase :)

Excellent Arcane Background to play characters summoning magic weapons. Very good for Fantasy, Wuxia, Psionics, even for Cyberpunk/Shadowrun, and Sci-Fi.
The document is easy to understand, weapon design is very flexible yet pretty simply and quick to go. Sure you can create classic weapons like spear, hammer, dual blades, sword and shield, but also exotic choices like returning boomerangs, Zeus bolt, bear paws, electric whip... I had a lot of fun using that Arcane Background.

An interesting Arcane Background for fantasy, that can also be easily adapted and used to handle Magic Schools, Animal Totems, or even Runic Magic, and similar approaches where magic is driven through a objects of power.
Document is well laid out, well written, easy to find, and contains seeds for adventures. Good work!

For 2$, the document didn't go far enough.
Some edges are lackluster. e.g. Friend of the wild improves attitude by one level, while Beast Master totally prevent you from being attacked AND gives a companion.
Druidic Companion is simple reskin of Fantasy Companion Familiar, with tons of requirements. (The Companion being a WC is pretty strong, but that's also how Fantasy Companion Familiar did). Some "extra pick" options are weak (e.g. master spend an Edge to give +1 toughness to the companion, i.e. weaker than Brawny, weaker than raising Vigor).
I don't get why Desert and Frozen tundra are penalized for Pulse of the Land, they ARE natural regions! It's wrath of nature more than overgrowth, it's raw elements, raw wind, pure earth/ice. Also Pulse of the Land is simple straigth weaker than Power Points (so it's only worth when you already picked Power Points Edge this Rank), and it's an Edge which can turn Hindrance (in civilized lands), bad design in my opinion.
I was expecting discussions around the powers, ideas for trappings, or minor adaptations to feel more Druidic. Nothing.
There could also have been Pregen Druidic characters from various terrain types. Too bad.

Good nugget to add to your setting to give more life to your long travels. And not, it is NOT full of crap random encounter tables, it leaves the GM to introduce what would most fit the setting. Instead it proposes very simple rules that engage players and their characters' skills, to pick the right directions, find shortcuts, avoid dangers, and keep foraging on the way.
Great work. Short and efficient. Rules are clear. Keep up the good work.

For everyone willing to publish a One Shot, One Sheet, Campaign, Add-on, Companion, Setting...to Savage World Adventure Edition. Mandatory. Greatly improves your product quality.

A great improvement to an already good system. More streamlined, more generic, more and better player interaction. Rules are easier to understand, and grouped better.
Also I love Powers Modifiers. Excellent and flexible.

Well designed, easy to understand, directly usable. A very good take on low-power Hedge magic. Well streamlined, very in line with Savage Worlds philosophy.
Oh sure I would have wished to discuss buying off ingredients on the market, but it's already great as it. Just one page but well worth 1$!
Thanks for the product.

Thanks as always, Cyril. That's a high compliment coming from someone with more than a few successful SWAG products of their own. Buying from a market was something we considered, but we felt it would be too prescriptive for a setting. We're working on our own setting where this will likely be possible, so you can look forward to some discussion of that idea when we've released it. |
