Stirring the Hornet's Nest at Het Thamsya
Publisher: Centaur Games

A hidden gem, surely. I GMed the adventure twice and it played out very well. What I really liked about it: It is an old school dungeon, but the best tactic is not to fight, but use your brains. The artwork is very neat and unique. And the descriptions are brief and to the point, I personally like this, because it leaves a lot of room for your own story telling and improvising. A few passages could be improved upon, mostly minor spelling or wording mistakes.

Carbon 2185 | A Cyberpunk RPG Core Rulebook
Publisher: Dragon Turtle Games

I backed this on Kickstarter, not really looking at the details. I was a bit surprised that it's Dnd 5e rules reskinned to cyberpunk. I am not a huge DnD fan, so it was a bit of a letdown at first (I should have read the description, I know).

Nevertheless, I tried out the game on one of our local RPG game nights, and was pleasantly surprised. Carbon plays smoothly, it is fast and fun. Some of the gamers were DnD fans, so it was not a big change for them, all others got into the system quite quickly.

Due to this, I can recommend the game, it is fast and fun, the core book offers tons of adventure ideas and adversaries, I am looking forward trying out the mission books at some point. It plays like a fast and easy cyberpunk variant, much lighter (IMHO) than Cyberpunk RED, for example (which arguably offers more depth).

My only issue is that there is no real VTT support - one might rig a Dnd 5e module to play it, but I have not tried this yet...

Blue Planet: Recontact Quickstart
Publisher: Gallant Knight Games
by Maximilian K. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 08/12/2019 08:03:50

Blue Planet has been one of my favorite SciFi RPGs ever since it was published.

The second edition is brilliant, plays nice and quick and throws a huge amount of campaign ideas at the GM. The only thing for me was, that I was yarning for more input, maps, descriptions of paces, adventure ideas (which, I must admit, are not so easy to find in a hard sci fi environment, at least if you are neither a geologist nor zoologist - I would not have come up with the Tiger Rocks described in one of the adventures).

Having skimmed through Blue Planet Recontact, it explicitly picks up where the second edition left. Rules streamlining (which you might like or not, would have to playtest this, but the first impression looks fresh, very modern and playable), adventure and campaign ideas. I am really excited about is the authors' idea about eight campain archetypes to help GMs start new games. This reminds me of Coriolis' brilliant idea which seems to have been picked up by this crew.

I am quite excited to see the finished product released and hope that Blue Planet will (once again) resurface from the dark deep blue for a bright future.
