This is a phenomenal module! The descriptive text (especially the Sensory Perception and Party Scaling sections) are fantastic in helping set the tone, and make sure to not overwhelm the party. My only "criticism" is that the maps are a bit bare-bones, but I'd much rather have a beautifully written module with ok maps (this), than beautiful maps with ok writing.

For perspective, we're playing Ghosts of Saltmarsh, there were 4 PCs at Level 6. I dropped it just before "The Final Enemy" and it's great. Also, I scrapped the whole intro because the PCs already have a ship (they were gifted The Sea Ghost by the Saltmarsh Town Council), so I just treated it like a random encounter at sea ("you're having trouble navigating back to Saltmarsh because there is dense fog and the lighthouse you normally use for navigation is not visible, what do you do?" situation), until they got on the island. Note to DMs, if you happen to have a PC on the Evil side of Alignment, they may grab the orb and start attuning without finding out what it is, then roll a 1 on their Con save. Be prepared with the 2 creatures necessary if that was to happen (it did in mine)

Overall 10/10 when integrated in the Ghosts of Saltmarsh campaign. The 3 surviving PCs, 1 dead PC, and I thank you for all your hard work! (Literally the one who died said, "This was the coolest death I have ever experienced! I love it!", so even the dead PCs can love it haha!)

Running Ghosts of Saltmarsh, and was having trouble fleshing out the politics of the area. This adventure gave me the perfect opportunity to flesh out the politics, and create some mystery roleplay. I ran it after Sinister, Danger, Abbey, and Salvage, but before The Final Enemy. Thank you for the great descriptions, great maps, and great content. Only thing I added was (because my PCs went seaward to the Lizardfolk Lair) I had Gellan give them the Helm of Underwater Breathing as a reward for getting it right.

10/10 will play again
