This product is just a god-send for DMs whether you're running Strahd for the first time or the 100th you are going to find some fantastic encounter ideas - more than you'll ever use in one campaign - and plenty of tips, guidance and suggestions for making your Barovian adventures truly unique. It was wonderful to see the increased stat block there as well - a real time saver if you're running with a higher level party. Everything was neatly laid out and so clearly presented you could really just pick this up on the fly and dive into it to pull out an encounter or two as you need them. Honestly, it's a real dream in that respect. My players for this were a group of dinosaurs who had played in Barovia many many times and met the devil in all his many forms right back since 2e. I'm happy to say they were delighted by all the new encounters and ideas and so joyful to meet a Strahd who was much more of a challenge than he had been in the past! Sadly, as a Romani person, I must say that the re-imagining of the Vistani is where the product falls short. True, this re-imagining has taken out many of the inherently evil characteristics of the Vistani, and for many players that might be enough. But there is still a lot there that is uncomfortable, dehumanising and offensive, even if different reasons are given for it. I can 100% understand the wish for kind-hearted non-Roma creators to want to make amends for the horror that is the Vistani, I love that they want to do that and I want to put my arms round them and hug them and thank them for feeling that way. This is obviously what Oliver Darkshire has tried to do and I do deeply appreciate that, but I'm sad to say it hasn't worked out. I hope this honest note doesn't put you off buying this product though, which in every other way is wonderful and well worth the money. Well-written and easy to use. My players nearly always comment on how cool that encounter was when I drop one of these in to a game. Couldn't be happier and hope to see a second volume as I'm running Rloft regularly now=)

All of the 101 encounters are fun and interesting. I was able to make a set of random encounter tables with these encounters and the ones from the CoS book. I can't wait for my players' reactions to these! Also, I had planned expanding Curse of Strahd to go up to around level 17. So, I was going to have to adjust Strahd's stat block. Fortunately, this also had a stat block for a tougher, harder Strahd. That saved me some time! There some other smaller things that are included that are great. This is definately worth the $10 price tag.

A great, detailed enounter list for Curse of Strahd or other Ravenloft compaigns. There is also plenty of bonus short suppliments in the back- I won't use all of them, but they are neat little single-page ideas you can hand-pick and use to personalize your campaign.

The encounters themselves seem to be a good mix of the dangerous, comical, creepy, and thematic. The only thing I would have requested additonal is some sort of CR range or other rough "danger guide" for the combat encounters, just to make it easier to skip or drop in warning signs early for exceptionally dangerous encounters when rolling on the fly. Still, a great, professional supplement, and in my opinion good value for the money.

These are amazing encounters well thought out and well written. If your players are experienced with Curse of Strahd this is the perfect way to keep the adventure fresh and exciting. if it's their first time it will make their experience unique. The art is well executed and fits the tone of the adventure perfectly.
