I enjoyed running this module, the opening sequence is very exciting to get through. As is the final boss battle...speaking of which I think for an APL that end boss fight will probably work as a fair fight. The power balancing on the very strong side is off. having 2 Brinora's in the fight with two invulnerability spells to cast is well beyond what most T3 teams can handle.

I will always enjoy modules that have real time timers for the players to work within. makes the situation all the more intense for them as they try to get as many missions done as they possibly can before the assault begins. I feel like the mages at the end with the Warlock could have had some more offensive type spells. Six rounds is plenty of time for the party to try to disrupt the ritual. The only issue I ran into with this module was that the demonic turtle while powerful in its own right. Was lacking in other areas. The largest concern being around its breath weapon. which didn't even do half the damage of the baby demon dragon turtles breath weapon from the previous module. So that was a slight continuity problem the idea that the bigger badder version of the bady had a weaker breath weapon. at the end of the day my party had a great time with this one. it definitely doesnt coddle you. Making mistakes can have deadly consequences.

the players had a great time with this module. Running it as a DM was quite easy, if the party makes the right decisions they can get it done in a few hours. We had just as much fun with the obstacles as with the combats. With the end boss for this module being quite powerful assuming it recharges it's breath weapon.

Solid mix of problem solving, traps, obstacles and combat.

As a DM I had a great time running this adventures. Though my players did enjoy themselves this module is quite difficult for even the best equiped T2 group. The first encounter seems to be on par with how a T2 game should start but with the trap that gives exhaustion I absolutely had to decrease the difficulty for the party. If I'd have kept the diffifulty to what the party was supposd to be at I would have TPK'd them without breaking a sweat. I would recommend people running this module but be weary of the difficulty scaling.

This was quite a fun module to run for new players. It starts off very light hearted but also poses some serious challenges to the players. All the combats seemed like something that a tier 1 character should be able to handle without being overly heavy-handed. There are a few things that seem to be leading towards a plot point but don't seem to go anywhere that's my only issue with it. Like acquiring the meteorite, once you have it that seems to be the end of its involvement with the module. Some of the clues from the investigation dont seem necessary or were so vague that they dont help to narrow down anything of importance, especially since the module is going to send you to forest anyways.
At the end of the day though all my players had a great time being in the adventure and I'd run it again. It was fun describing how they succeeded or failed at the tasks they were asked to perform.

Edit Reply - I'm not sure if adding the additional notes to the DM will make much of a difference. It is such a quick transition from getting the clues to going into the forest. There really doesnt seem to be time to digest the clues persay. My favorite part of running this module though was the tasks they were given to do. Describing how well they succeeded or spectacularly they failed at a task.

Thanks for the feedback. This is my (Curtis) first adventure to write, so your insights are very helpful. You are correct that the meteorite is just kinda left hanging there...but there is a method to my madness...but you will just have to wait for the next installment of the adventure. The comment about the clues from the investigations...I am assuming that you are referring to the clues giving by the business owners. They are meant to be a bit vague...but they all lead to traits of the "you know what". Maybe if I left a note for the DM that indicates that these are all things or behaviours that point to identifying the "you know what". Do you think that would have helped? If you don't mind me asking...what was your FAVORITE part of the module?

From start to finish this was a great module to play and a terrific start to the Reborn Flame Trilogy. Starting at the lava kraken encounter in the sea of fire to the battle on the dragon turtles back each fight seemed to fit the theme of the module and have an impact as to how the current and future adventures would be run. My favorite part and the reason I plan on running this adventure again though is the puzzle room. Having a real time element of danger to that encounter heightened the pressure on the players at the table. I'm very happy that 3 different solutions to the puzzle were provided in the adventure.

All the players were tired but happy at the end of this one and all of them continued onward with the rest of the trilogy. Timeframe, the last fight took 90 mins but we still finished in 4 hours.
