A fun concept: a bard subclass that's centered around cat stuff. How well this works depends on how serious you want it to be. Read as a joke subclass, this is pretty entertaining, especially their final "Kitty" feature (which stupefies targets with cuteness). However, if taken as a proper subclass, this falls a bit short: the Gift of Claws feature is a bit odd and complicated (a Bardic Inspiration plus claws that recipients can pass on) while Kitty is just too silly. (Also, $1.99 for five pages of material is slightly too much.)

Here kitty kitty. This was such a fun archetype to play. I totally felt like I was playing Puss n Boots with this bad boy. The focus on the feline playstyle just fits well with me. Make sure to check this out.

The Bardic College of Caterwauling is a delightful bard subclass that adds a touch of class, silliness, and high fantasy to whatever game you’re playing. The College of Caterwauling focuses on cats/tabaxi and grants the player catlike abilities, including the Gift of Claws, Mighty Roar, and, my favorite, KITTY. All of these abilities are quite clever and encourage cooperation and role-playing. For example, in KITTY, you can either convince a creature that you’re completely non-threatening or essentially incapacitate them with your cuteness, forcing them to protect you and play with you. It’s amazing and something that I desperately want to see happen in a gritty, epic game.

This supplement also contains two College of Caterwauling NPCs at medium and upper level for you to add to your games or give your players as a quick build. I loved that the creator included that because it helped me show my players how much fun this subclass could be. As soon as I did the Distracting Yowl, they were sold.

So if you love cats, bards, or inherent silliness, I would definitely give this subclass a try! It’s a lot of fun, super creative, and a really cute, well-made PDF with some great art. You’ll be glad you grabbed it!

I'm currently playing a Tabaxi Bard at level 2, and wasn't entirely satisfied with any of the college choices. I was about to pick the generic College of Lore when this was brought to my attention. Looking forward to playing it, love it even before I grab my dice. KITTY, indeed.

Weird, quirky, creepy, and definitely appropriate for all the cat lovers out there. This isn't something that I'd use in an ongoing campaign, but it could be fun for a one-shot and as a DM, it's given me delicious ideas. This supplement is absolutely DELIGHTFUL! I laughed my way through reading it. I particularly like the specialty class features Distracting Yowl and Kitty. Well worth the small price. I'm totally using this for a character, or at the very least a prominent NPC, someday.
