This could easily be retitled "37 Great Tips For GMs" and the ideas contained within its few pages are very solid advice for general gamesmastering. That said, for referees wanting to inject an old school feel into their 5e games, or those wrestling with running the many retroclones out there, this short and sweet document will set you on the path to creating the sort of "high trust" table that's needed for successful OSR play. One caveat...the advice is good and well expressed and for some it will be like music to the earholes, but if you're a seasoned veteran of the DM Wars don't expect to find anything that'll level you up to Super-Saiyan or beyond. Still, it's worth a read for us old fogeys too, just to make sure we're still ticking along like we should.

A lot of money for what is essentially a mediocre, generic setting book with an incomplete supers system up front. Would much rather have seen page count used to round out the pretty thin number of superpower options and flesh out the system for super-genre play, rather than have hundreds of pages devoted to yet-another-generic-comic-book setting. Especially galling is the material, including core rules, that are obviously copied over from Tiny Fantasy. Best avoided unless you're in the market for a very light, pretty restrictive system and a good-to-go (but not very good) worldbook all-in-one. Not a patch on ICONS.

Fresh, original take on the point crawl. As the author says in the introduction, this tries to avoid the OSR penchant for grimdark gonzo and goes for cruel whimsy and country-garden gonzo instead. A steal at the price...rare is the GM who will find no value in this green-covered gem of a supplement.

You should get this if your fantasy game features snow, ice, tribes, witches, animals, giants, the wilderness or if you like lovely scratchy artwork. Although it's for Lamentations of the Flame Princess/OSR systems, that just means the mechanics are nice and simple and easy to port over to other editions of the world's greatest fantasy game. This is a must-have for any GM that keeps a Viking helmet stashed away somewhere.

This is my favourite iteration of the BRP rules, and it has an implied setting that's to die for. Get this, then go get something else by these wonderful creators.
