Ran this at our last session and the players LOVED IT. My team is more into world building/puzzles/roleplay than combat, so they were thrilled with this puzzle based session that also contained a sinister storyline. When they realized this seemingly silly escape room turned into a murder mystery they were so excited haha.
I re-made the maps in Dungeon Tiles to be more atmoshperic, but you could use the provided maps as is to really cut down on prep time. I changed up a few things to make the connections between the clues a little stronger. For example, to get the clue from the bookshelf in the sitting room, I had the PC's find the missing volumes of the Pixie Princess books in Pixane's room, and place them back on the shelf. Instead of a mimic chest at the very end, I put a cryptic note from Toecap in there in order to entice them to solve the mystery and put her to rest. The players were excited to continue on so we're starting the next part of the mystery today.
Bravo to the author for not only crafting a fun puzzle with a fun theme, but also diligently anticpating different checks and inspections the PCs could make. I don't know if this was play-tested before release, but the author anticpated pretty much every move my players tried to make haha. As a DM, it was pretty effortless to follow along thanks to the nice layout of the pdf. The labeled rooms with a labeled map was a big help, especially when my players all branched off into different rooms and I had to quickly look up the rooms and clues.
