It's a shame Ronin Arts and Adamant Entertainment can't produce a book of Pulp Sci-Fi for D20 because this PDF would serve as a centerpiece. But it sounds like the designers at RA did their homework as the three ships here are infinately worthy of making a whole campaign around. Throw in a few of the advance classes from the Thrilling Tales line that they are designed to coincide with and you have most of your work done for you. All in all a great addition to the e-library of any fan of the old Pulps and serials. I can't wait till the next installment.

LIKED: The mechanics and feel are right on for a retro sci-fi campaign.

DISLIKED: That my Secret Squadron Subscription didn't cover it. It's still worth getting as I have the materials that coincide with it already.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
An interesting set of NPCs or ready made PCs for use with Mutants and Masterminds. Each super powered entry has a heroic and a villainous version so they can be used on either side of the law. For GMs this means a variety of stock NPCs that can be used as needed. For players they can be quick and dirty character sheets as well as illustrations for their characters.

LIKED: The characters are rather well thought out and the artwork is good.

DISLIKED: Not sure how well the stand up versions are going to work

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
Thanks for the comments Michael, at last a reviewer who undersands what this series is about "classic space opera", we are expanding the range so look out for more of these products in the future |

Barbaric treasures is an expansion on the tools of previous volumes and stands alone as a quality arms and equipment book. While it is centered around the assumption you are playing in a rather specific mythos, aspects can always be altered to suit other campaigns. I know the one weapon in here is what I consider a godsend as I had been thinking about it off and on for several years but never got around to making it into a weapon.

LIKED: The weapons and armor are well thought out and give room for imagination and individual flare. You could almost define a character with the equipment given as far as their capabilities go.

DISLIKED: some of the equipment is also printed in their other products.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Excellant product, the feats and prestige classes are thought provoking and serve to fine tune a given warrior with the precision most players want.

LIKED: The prestige classes and the types of characters they represent

DISLIKED: Weapons and armor are reprinted in Barbaric treasures. The Piecemeal armor seems rather clunky.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Overall a most excellant product for magic users. It is geared towards a specific mythos and how that genre treats magic users but all in all a great sourcebook for classes dedicated to arcane magic.

LIKED: The prestige classes were well thought out and serve to give distinction to a given magic user.

DISLIKED: No reference to where the one mechanic comes from so a GM wanting to use the material for other fantasy games has little recourse in figuring out how to adapt these feats to play something other than the world in which it is supposedly situated.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
As mentioned by Mr. Schell, the OGL Barbarian product line is primarily intended for use with a specific OGL fantasy ruleset. Unfortunately, the nature of the OGL does not allow us to advertise or state in our products what this ruleset is without the other company's permission (which they don't give because it is a licensed product.) This is why we can't mention anything about the mechanic's origins or state something to the affect of "For Use with GAME X." Our apologies for any inconvenience, but it's unavoidable without skirting the edges of copyright and trademark infringement. |

Great PDF, and would have certainly made it into my personal library as a print book.

LIKED: New Spells, New Feats and a decent arcane warrior base class. What's not to like?

DISLIKED: I would have liked to see suggestions for making the class for more than just elves.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
