Bards who are mimes!! Brilliant idea!! The mechanics of the subclass are also really good. If you were curious about this title, I think it is absolutely worth picking up.

What an awesome, silly subclass! The College of Silence bardic subclass essentially allows you to play as a mime and turns the concept of a bard – loud, brash, and attention-seeking – on its head. When you choose this college, you can now cast spells and communicate silently (so long as your hands are free, you’re not restrained, and the creature you’re communicating with can see you). You also get some great features like being able to cast silence (which will not affect you), mime people into your clutches, and mimic spells that you see. Despite its inherent silliness, it’s a potentially devastating subclass with a lot of possibilities. I love it!

This is a very interesting take on a bardic college and it should deliver a unique play experience. The class abilities are an interesting mix of flavorful ribbons and interesting mechanical choices; creative players can get a lot of mileage out of all of them, but any other spellcasters in their party should watch out since this bard will quickly become an expert at the silence spell! The supplement is well-written and clearly laid out; the cover art work sets the not-so-serious tone of the subclass and you can immediately tell that the document was professionally edited. Well done. I'm pleased with the recent spate of bardic colleges released on the DMs Guild - they're really raising the bar for PC supplements of this type.

I sprang for it out of curiosity, and I think it is a pretty interesting take, whether or not you'd want to be the one playing the mime.

Without giving away too much: yes, you can cast spells with verbal components with a different requirement instead; some specific classic mime routines are so convincing that they have actual effects (which I think is great and could flavor all your regular spells); and you get a special ability regarding spells with somatic components that you see others cast. Communicating with your party at lower levels will probably require some imagination and charades role-playing, which could be hilarious or annoying. Just like mimes? :)

If my teasers convince you to buy it, you could let the author know, and maybe they can spill a little more about it in the description.

(Just putting my comment in a review where it might be more helpful.)
