Ptolus Deluxe City Map
Publisher: SkeletonKey Games
by Robert R. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 07/26/2006 00:00:00

Awesome graphics as usual, this is going to be HUGE when it's assembled. Would have been nice to maybe have a 'reduced size' version that covered maybe 6-8 sheets instead of 66, but the level of detail on the big map is incredible. Can't wait for the book itself to come out; as it is with this map I feel ready to walk about the city myself.

LIKED: Detail, colour, crispness, layout - it just looks INCREDIBLE.

DISLIKED: Really needs a 'smaller' version of the map, perhaps over 4-6 pages? Not going to affect my rating though!

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied

[THIS REVIEW WAS EDITED]
Very nice set of 'narrow' sewer tunnels (narrower than the normal e-Adventure tile set anyway). Good level of detail on the water and surrounding elements (ladders, bridges etc).

LIKED: Detail, graphics, links to multiple existing SKG tile sets.

DISLIKED: Nothing.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
e-Adventure Tiles: Adventure Town Warehouses Vol. 1
Publisher: SkeletonKey Games
by Robert R. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 07/26/2006 00:00:00

EXCELLENT addition to the Adventure Town series, you can build some very nice, detailed warehouses filled with a variety of goods and crates. Good variety of options for making large or small warehouses.

LIKED: As usual, detail and crispness is excellent. Only thing preventing me from giving this the highest rating is the thought that maybe one day we will get a set (or two!) of Adventure Town tiles with STORES on them; maybe 1/2/3 tile sized shops?

DISLIKED: Nothing.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Ptolus Adventure Maps: The Ghostly Minstrel
Publisher: SkeletonKey Games
by Robert R. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 07/26/2006 00:00:00

FANTASTIC! This is what I call an Inn! Detail is eyepopping (perhaps too eye-popping - the Ghostly Minstrel must have a full time cleaning staff everything is so neat and today, some dirt would have been welcome) and although the set doesn't technically fit in with the Adventure Town series, the exterior floor is the same so it's not hard to match them up. Just need some stores or other buildings to put next to the Inn now :)

LIKED: Multiple floors, guest rooms, common rooms - all the things I felt were missing from the AT: Taverns set (I would still love to see a mod for that bringing in stairs and upper floors using the square tile format).

DISLIKED: Nothing - this is great!

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Highly useful product - could still use a few tweaks here and there but if you have multiple sets of the SKG e-tiles then this makes creating maps that use them a breeze. Highly recommended.

LIKED: Easy to use, good technical support. Good follow up to customer ideas/issues.

DISLIKED: Can't handle the wilderness format tiles (although this is being worked on).

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
e-Adventure Tiles: Adventure Town Taverns Vol. 1
Publisher: SkeletonKey Games
by Robert R. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 06/02/2006 00:00:00

As usual another graphically very nice product from Ed, however I must admit I am a little disappointed that none of these taverns can be used as your typical D&D style 'inn' - ie there's no upstairs (nowhere for the adventurers to sleep/recover etc), no kitchen areas and no cellars (with appropriate hidden entrances to the sewers/dungeons etc)! These can be used purely for drinking houses and not much else. Come on Ed, where are the Inns in Adventure Town?

This has left me begging for more in the Adventure Town series though - come on Ed, where are they?

LIKED: Clean, crisp graphics as always (perhaps too clean and crisp?). For the stated purpose (taverns) they are extremely nice.

DISLIKED: No upstairs/downstairs; somewhat disappointed that these are not 'Inns' as such but then again that's not what they are sold as so it's not SKGs fault per se.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
e-Adventure Tiles: Hex Wilderness
Publisher: SkeletonKey Games
by Robert R. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 05/04/2005 00:00:00

Finally, hexes!! It was worth the wait as this is an extremely nice set; not sure about the tiles being on large hexes of their own, I still think that the standard rectangle or square could have worked (yes you'd lose some flexibility but not that much, and they would simply LOOK more standard) but I'm just glad to get them. Hopefully we will see many more sets with hexes on, including the old standbys like dungeons and caves. How about it Ed?

LIKED: Great to finally see hexes on a floor tile product. Graphics as usual top quality.

DISLIKED: Not convinced by the large hex tile format but I'll take 'em any way I can get 'em :)

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
e-Adventure Tiles: Dungeons Vol. 4 - Small Chambers
Publisher: SkeletonKey Games
by Robert R. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 05/04/2005 00:00:00

Another excellent set that nicely rounds out the Dungeon tiles, this is the set that finally contains the ubiquitous 10' x 10' room so beloved of dungeon designers everywhere, although it looks a little pathetic sitting at the end of a typical 10' wide corridor (also beloved of dungeon designers everywhere). There are now some VERY interesting possibilities available by using all the range of tiles - now how about an adventure maps set using all the dungeon tiles, Ed?

All we need now are more Dungeon Details sets along the same lines as Dungeon Details Vol 2, with larger set-piece rooms.

LIKED: Small rooms have been needed for a long time, nice flexibility added to Dungeon Tiles range.

DISLIKED: Some of the rooms and corridors are a little....quirky for standard use. Could've maybe used a few more boring 'room next to a corridor' tiles.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Future: Starship 12 -- The Horizon Traveler
Publisher: Ronin Arts
by Robert R. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 05/04/2005 00:00:00

Excellent large ship designed to use multiple decks connected by elevators, this is a great example of what you can do with the e-Future tile sets. Now I would really like to see something that uses the Battle Damaged tiles!

LIKED: Great, logical construction to the deck plans; eg the command deck is not accessible directly from the passenger deck. Good description of the ship plus good adventure hooks. Plus of course an extra tile, a very nice lounge with a window directly onto space. I'd love to be sitting on one of those couches I can tell you!

DISLIKED: Nothing - well worth every cent. I hope that RA continue to release these as they are a fantastic resource.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Future: Starship 13 -- Ghost Ship
Publisher: Ronin Arts
by Robert R. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 05/04/2005 00:00:00

The starships from Ronin Arts just get better and better (and bigger!) with each release. The only thing I would really like to see now (and this applies more to Skeleton Key than to RA) is some stairs tiles - if the ship loses power or (as is the case with this one) becomes derelict, as it stands right now you're hosed.

However that apart, this is an excellent and intriguing ship design modelled on an outrigger style dual hulled starship. The ship is massive and very well detailed, but equally useful are the plot threads and other stats also contained - it was interesting just to read about the Kapteyn and the possibilities for adventure, let alone drool over the deckplans like I usually do.

LIKED: Everything - good design, great additional 'stuff'. Plus as usual an extra tile :)

DISLIKED: Nothing.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
e-Future Tiles: Battle Damaged Starship
Publisher: SkeletonKey Games
by Robert R. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 12/28/2004 00:00:00

After almost a month since the last release, I was anxious to see what SKG came up with next, and they didn't disappoint - Battle Damaged Starships is an incredible set that almost impossibly raises the bar graphically on all the previous e-Future tile sets. The tiles on display here have chunks of ship missing, rooms on fire, scorch marks on the floor, damaged consoles, flooded med-bays, blown out airlocks....the range of possibilities raised by this set are endless.

LIKED: Ironically (considering what it is depicting) this is possibly the prettiest (graphically) of the e-Future tile sets. Colour use is awesome, the level of detail is unmatched - add this to one of the prior sets and really go to town on your players.

DISLIKED: Absolutely nothing.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Excellent small adventure location ideal for use in a frosty environment. By NOT populating the site fully with monsters but rather leaving suggestions for where monsters might be, as well as providing stats for environmental hazards this product can be easily tailored to fit your group - personally I plan on using it with the Conan RPG, it strikes me as the kind of place Conan would have found.

LIKED: Good presentation, nice graphics, and another e-tile - excellent. e-Adventure Tiles: Arcane Express
Publisher: SkeletonKey Games
by Robert R. [Verified Purchaser]

Very esoteric subject matter, this is an very pretty set to look at and in the right campaign it will be a winner. What that campaign will be, though, I don't know (possibly Eberron? Haven't looked at it enough to know) but if you change the locomotive and use select carriages, you could almost use this in a Western game, or a Cthulhu game. I'll be interested to see what Ed and the guys at Ronin Arts can cook up with this one as it seems tailor made with a specific scenario in mind.

Hey Ed, if you can do this and have it come out as well as this has, when can I expect to see ships?? Galleons, Galleys, Carracks etc - they would fit this format really well.

LIKED: Unique subject matter, very nice graphically.

DISLIKED: Unique subject matter, nice to look at but unsure as to practical uses.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
Sick. Just flat out sick. And as an expansion to Hentacle, I was left wanting more! Usual distressingly well illustrated cards and artwork, PLEASE take note that the warnings are well deserved - this is not a card game for kids or anyone of a weak disposition (or with a morally superior chip on their shoulder), but if you own Hentacle already and are looking for more perversion of a card game nature, then this is your product.

Can't wait for Expansion No.2 :)

LIKED: Great, very adult artwork.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
