Great adventure for new and returning players. I bought this to run for players who haven't played in years, and it was perfect. The adventure is designed for "old heroes" reuniting after a number of years apart. From the players' perspective, it seems like a straightforward investigation/adventure, but there's some really interesting twists that keep it fresh for experienced players. I think this adventure runs best with a slightly experienced DM. It's a great one-shot that I'm happy to have on call for quick games.

I'm really glad I picked this book up. Terrain isn't my strong suit - it's easy to gloss over details in a fantasy world. But details are what really make a world come to life! It isn't just a "cave", it's a cave in which Ember Moss is growing. The Goblins living inside have cultivated it to use for their fires and traps, which means they've purposefully created a more damp environment to live in. Suddenly that cave has so much more personality than just another Goblin hole. The most valuable thing about this book is that it's helped me think of these things on my own to incorporate into my games. My homebrew world is more alive thanks to Fantastic Terrain!

I was happy to find this entire Forest River series just as I started laying out an adventure for sale. It's beautiful art, obviously, packaged neatly so I could plug & play. Worked great for my adventure!

This is a well-crafted system to help weapons get more powerful over time. I had a very easy time adapting the content for my home game (shifting it from "ancestral" weapons to "deific" weapons). My players have really enjoyed it; it's a solid system to help the player's personal progression feel meaningful within a larger story.

My only complaint? I wanted more traps! The traps provided here are excellent and left me hungry for more.

This is primarily a helpful tool for DMs starting out with trapmaking. Much of the content is useful information on what constitutes a trap and how/why/when to use them. It did not give me a huge list of traps that'll last me forever, but it did provide me with enough clever examples and information to start my own wheels turning (which are attached to a hidden panel in the floor above a spike pit...). Whether you're a starter DM or an experienced dungeon designer, there is something new and interesting for you in here.

There is a lot more here than I realized! Admittedly, I think this psionics system itself is a little confusing. It took me a few reads to really wrap my head around it - I'd only recommend this to experienced players. That said, this suplement is packed so much additional content that it's hard to be mad! There are subclasses, spells, racial and lore information, even adventure hooks and guidelines to help you bring psionics into your game. This is an all-in-one psionics supplement. If you're interested in using psionics in 5e, this is a great starting point.

This series is a blast. The writing has excellent character to it that provides you with a ground-level view of life in the Forgotten Realms. In every volume you'll find something to help you expand your game - beasts, magic, plants, all excellently fantasy-flavored. On top of that, an excellent design & layout makes everything very accessible and easy to navigate!

A lot of effort clearly went into this title. The art is vivid and there's a ton of utility in the NPCs. It's great to be able to quickly grab a basic stat sheet for a wide variety of characters - I've always hated having to build a whole character sheet for my noteworthy NPCs. Having this on hand has not only saved me a ton of time, but has given me new inspiration for how my NPCs can be. Highly recommended!
