What I particularly like about this adventure is that it's clear, well laid out, and explores a lot of the different outcomes, many of which come up later. The characters are easy to run with all of the information available, and there's a lot of fun flavor here that a DM could really dig into.
Any feedback I have is primarily personal taste, but I think I was hoping that the mermaid, Oshanda, played a larger part. Since it's called "The Mermaid's Errand," I was expecting Oshanda to be more central to the plot, and was somewhat disappointed when we only see her briefly at the end.
Because Oshanda is so absent, I think the encounters feel somewhat random, even though I know they aren't. It's interesting, I go back and forth. I love the information on Loki and the Green Thieves, but it's one of those things where, again, I almost expected it to be a little more nautically themed and was surprised when it wasn't. I don't necessarily know that I would recommend changing them, but I did want to mention that they feel somewhat disjointed.
Since Gerard is one of the few important characters and he owns a magic item shop, I would also love to see either more suggested magical items that he sells or perhaps a couple of unique, nautical-themed magic items. While the DM can definitely populate the magic shop themselves, it might be useful to aid them, especially since Gerard is so vital to the story. It's not necessary, but that extra flavor would be great.
At the end of the day, I think I'm mostly asking for more, which is a good thing. I love this adventure, I love the area, I love the puzzle, and my only critiques are that I like it so much that I want more of it. More flavored enounters, more flavor and details, and more Oshanda. That being said, I do like what I have, and this is so easy and intuitive to run. Very happy about that. Great work for a fun little coastal romp.
