This was the first game I ran as a DM. Not only was it fun to prep for, it was fun to play. Our group also included a first time player and it was easy for her to catch on. The story is fun, there are tons of resources from scenes, to characters, to maps with detailed descriptions of locations. I would highly reccomend this story.

Great module! Currently prepping to run it at a con and looking very much forward to it.

I don't really understand the "Be vigilant for your six waking hours a day valiant cat" statement on the cat sheets. Any clarification on these "6 hours" would be nice

Cats. More cats. Yet more cats.

Cat-themed adventure with cat-themed rewards.

Fun, flavorful, feline... 5/5; it's flawless.

Actually, the only part that isn't perfect is... [MINOR SPOILERS FOLLOW!] that the Story Award requires you to fail a save that you don't seem to be able to voluntarily fail.

I try to ask the players ahead of time whether they, or their characters, are cat people, and also ask them what kind of cat they would be. This lets me try to match them up with a few different choices for their bonds, and also helps me guess a little bit at how... aggressively affectionate... the cats should be. I've taken full advantage of DM empowerment to decide when players have Adv/Disadv. Did you try to pet the cat? Disadvantage. Feed the cat? Disadvantage. Merely acknowledge the cat's existence, even barely? Disadvantage. Hey, it's how the cat would see it, isn't it? The mod does make it a bit tough to "convince" the players that the cats aren't the threat, too.

Beyond that, the adventure has a pretty clear through-line, though I would probably generally skip bonus objective B as it doesn't really seem to fit in well; other reviews suggest that it's perhaps intended to link further into the Border Kingdoms adventures?

I have run this mod at least four times. It is always a hit. Especially if you can run it on the creepy side.

I've run this mod so many times I don't even need to look at the text any more! The first time I ran it, I was concerned people wouldn't be bothered by the mystery, but they've been thoroughly creeped out. And I love that even experienced players are shocked by the bbeg. This is the only Border Kingdoms mod I've run, and that most of my players have played, and after almost 10 times running it, no one has been interested in checking out the bandit hideout; if the party is very strong, I'll have some of the (controlled) bandits in the woods, or waiting as an ambush in the ruins of the bbeg. Otherwise, I've been adjusting the number of chokers for weak to average parties. Be careful about creating a choke point in the last room; I've started putting a "body" on the far side of the pool from the door to draw people in or you just end up with only two people able to do anything, which can be deadly in that fight.

One of my favorite Adventurers League modules to run hands down!

Very fun and flavorful module.

It was quite amusing how my players got wary of the "mind controlling" cats and started chasing them away; this came back to haunt them later when there weren't enough cats willing to bond them anymore to go around. Only a few players got to leave with the cat miniatures I printed out of cardstock (so sad).

If anything falls short in this module, it would be that the two castles (the Bonus Objective castle and the "final boss" castle) were relatively empty of anything of note for their size. In addition, the Bonus Objective for the bandits seems to just be there to foreshadow future developments in the Border Kingdoms (with the Call to Action at the start being a somewhat ham-fisted attempt to get the players invested in said Objective). I would recommend combining the two castles together, with the boss having taken control of the bandits to do their own bidding and better defend their base. If some of the bandits (maybe the leader and/or the priestess) have managed to avoid said control, this also opens the possibility of them forming a grudging alliance with the players to take down the more obvious, mind controlling evil.

I used cat related props and let the players choose a prop with which cat was attached being unknown. This add to the fun of players running against their own personality type. I ran the four hour version which I had to cut down some of town encounters due the store closing time. This is a silly type module which maybe hard for some games to get. Some of the empty rooms can either be skipped or added to. The one minor flaw is some of encounters are easy if everyone has been bonded with a cat.

Amazing Mod my players and myself loved it. The different personalities of the cats was great. Running it was fairly easy even with less than an hour of prep time as it reads really nicely. I would say adding some extra wacky flavor to the empty rooms in the dungeons would have been nice but we were able to fill those voids with cat tomfoolery. I will 100% be running this one again.

This module was a lot of fun to run. Having the players roleplay the cats and leaning into the inherent goofiness of the mod was a ton of fun for all of us. The two dungeons are a bit large and empty though. There are too many rooms that have nothing of any importance to the module and frustrated my players.

This adventure defines 5-stars to me. This adventure starts you with a typical-seeming scenario, and then things get a little bit twilight-zone. What is going on in Selpt!? Where did all of these cats come from? and Don't you think you need a cat to keep you safe? Everyone should have a cat. Stop thinking about buying this and buy it. Meow. err... now!
