Karl David Brown returns to his series of booklets constructing Player Character races for D&D 5E, based on his mathematical fomula anaylsis and deep dives into previous version's lore. I haven't read the previous booklets, but I might based on this one's quality.
You get 14 pages for $US 1.30, including front and back cover. Layout is good and clean. Artwork is sparse, but illuminates the subject. I noticed a few typos, and I'll be providing those to the author.
The meat is an excellent history of orge and ogre-related species through the history of OD&D, BD&D, AD&D, and current D&D, along with several options from for various orge and orge-related player races in 5E. There are tables for ogre-specific bonds and flaws, an ogre-specific feat, and a breakdown of how the author arrived at his calculations. The book ends with some optional rules for ogres and a new mount: giant pelicans!
A lot of this is based on material from Mystra (Known World, BD&D) and Zakhara (Al-Qadim, 2E AD&D).
Full disclosure: I spoke with the author a bit during creation of the booklet, but I did not provide any material for its creation, nor did I receive any compensation for this review. I just noticed the topic and enjoyed the result.
