Lovely writing and the players were very excited to have broken in and out. We loved the 2 thiefs, who I have been trying to bring back in for ages. Great puzzles and easy to integrate into a wider campaign.

Wow, this adventure is just amazing from start to finish. I modified the setting ever so slightly to fit it into my campaign, making it part of a quest for a theives guild. The tenseness of the heist, and the thoughtfulness that went into every aspect of the design made this an abosolute joy to run!

The detail that was provided for almost every NPC and character of importance made them easy to role play, and the maps were top notch, I loved the player handout!

If you need a thief mission, or are just looking for a 6-8 hour adventure (it really will take that long) that will rachet up the tension for your players, this is a great adventure and well worth it for the price. It saved me hours of prep work, and was very easy to just pick-up read and run!

Highly recommend! Two thumbs way up!

Bottom line. Heist at Nimressa was an absolute blast to run for my players. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a real heist.

If you were disappointed that Waterdeep: Dragon Heist was not a real heist in the vein of The Italian Job or Ocean's 11, this adventure is for you. This adventure promises a great score at the end, including a new magic item. Here are some highlights:

  • There's a rich adventure background that inspired me as a DM wonderfully well as soon as the characters went off the beaten path. The Barony of Nimressa (the setting that can be dropped into just about any campaign) is well thought out and has tons of subplots and corners to explore.
  • There are memorable NPCs, including two PC allies that were fun to play. I won't spoil anything, but Dirinor and Fennic are amazing and they come with backgrounds and personality quirks that are nicely fleshed out. They get a page all their own.
  • There's a great mechanic that's elegantly simple for persuading an NPC to change their motivation or change their tactic. I'm going to be using this one in future adventures. It's very much in the spirit of 5th edition.
  • There's a DM-facing map that works well, but the real star is the gorgeous player-facing map that looks like a hastily drawn charcoal sketch. My players were very impressed.

In short, grab this adventure. We played it in about 8 two-hour sessions and agreed it was our favorite campaign arc we've ever played.

Full Disclosure: I did not know the author when I bought and started running this adventure, but have since met and interviewed him for the Skill Checks podcast.

Really fun adventure. Got through everything in the exact time advertised. I ran it as part of a one-shot series I'm calling Rogue Squad- only rogue subclasses with few exceptions. I was going to homebrew but it's like this was made for it. Made some additions to the security features (animated armor sentries when an "alarm" is tripped), but overall, ran exactly how is.

Now, my group loved this adventure and are extremely interested in this mysterious baron they robbed. Problem is, my source material is fresh out! Is their any chance there is more coming that explores the baroness? If not, was there a vision you were contemplating? Let me know. I'm thinking I'll come up with something if not, but would be happy pass my notes along to you.

Anyway, great work! Money well spent.

I really enjoyed this adventure. I actually playtested this adventure! The characters and plot were compelling. I super enjoyed that battles were possible but also avoidable. There are many ways in which the adventure can take you based on the type of party you have. My party went with an entertainer Long-Con which was extremely enjoyable. I loved that maps were available and it was really thought through. I never felt as though any of my characters questions went unanswered.

basically this is a very fun adventure to play and as far as I can tell DM!
