As a fan of the game, I really enjoyed reading this - and the ideas of where the characters ended up. I was particularly taken by the interior artwork which was outstanding. There were some great ideas thrown around and adventure seeds.

I noted in the stat blocks there was a bit of a return to the 1st/2nd edition immune to non-magical weapons which might be something overlooked by some DMs.

I really enjoyed running this module, trotting out accents and pirate tropes was a great deal of fun. The characters within had clear motivations and there was excellent opportunity for roleplaying. I love a good adventures where players can use a range of skills and approaches to achieve success.

It was by no means linear and catered well to offering choices. It definitely had the feel of an epic bronze age adventure especially with the dramatic ending.

A few niggling points though. A rough map of the island would be useful to get some idea of distances and geography and make it easier for DM descriptions It's important to have the maps meet the spell areas. Spells such as sleet storm, for example, have huge areas and small maps make them relatively unusable ... not a problem normally but then including them as listed tactics which don't work aren't particularly helpful. The final encounter was also very tough - the pirate captain could do insane amounts of damage and was pretty tough to defeat, combined with a number of spell casters (especially after the party had expended resources in the close proximity battles prior to the final one) - there was a bit of hand waving and dramatic licence used.

I've started using this when writing my own products and it is very easy for a design goober like me to use.

It lets me keep things simple so I can focus on writing more than formatting.

I enjoyed this running this module and liked the use of tool proficiencies as a way of collecting information. Small group and of lower tier. Most enjoyable and some fun with NPCs.

Making tool use of value in a module is novel and I would like to see more of it. I think it could also use some options for appropriate skills of value here.

I think some of the events and abilities rolls could be scaled better for lower APL groups (10d10 damage is possibly a TPK for level 5 characters). (Also the carrying of 500lb of meat might be hard for small groups)

Nice work

This was an interesting module which is requires flexibility and initiative for the players and DM.

There are some great moments and opportunities but I found that there were some inherent flaws in the module.

Spoilers:

To raise enough currency to win the auction, PCs will have to engage in immoral acts (selling their souls or the souls of others) or condemning hopeless innocents to pyramid schemes - which don't make it apparent to the players what the size of the profit will be. My players did the stock market option (we were time limited) and couldn't raise nearly enough even with their successes. Without selling souls or getting very lucky and performing acts a number of characters would find distateful, it was too challenging to have enough currency to buy the widget legitimately.

Eventually they ambushed the buyer (who I had to create as a suitable opponent on the fly) and left.

I felt there could have been a lot more guidance on options for the raising of currency as well as other options for attaining the magic widget.

I enjoyed running this module. The group didn't go for the combat option (Having a changeling helped) but definietly got slammed in the final combat. The fact that a lot of the infiltration relied on dice roll luck was a little concerning. Overall a good module but helped by the right sort of characters to carry it out.

(It would have been interesting to outline the researchers responses to an active warforged)

Clearly the Eberron mods aren't designed for the standard dungeon bashers... which is great.
