Just ran my first session of Grimwild and it was incredible. This is the RPG I have been looking for without even realizing it. If you love Blades in the Dark but are looking for a way to still scratch your heroic fantasy itch, this is 100% the system to play.

Just calling it fantasy Blades in the Dark is not fair though. I have never read a heroic fantasy RPG where I want to play every single character class, at least I had not before I read Grimwild. The blend of the familiar D&D classes with fresh fiction-first, snappy rules just feels so good. The entire time I was playing with my group I just marvelled at how smooth and free flowing the game was, even though it was our first time running it.

Grimwild is the epitome of "group story telling" that RPGs are often pitched as. Every player and the GM work together to craft an experience that is truly cinematic. This will be my go-to fantasy RPG system for the foreseeable future.

I do not think I have ever read a rule book and wanted to play every one of the classes. Extremely excited to try this out with my Blades in the Dark crew. It seems like it is exactly the system we have been looking for in the fantasy TTRPG space.

Good list of quirks, maybe have numbers beside them so we could randomly roll for a quirk?

This book contains a huge amount of awesome spells. Not all are balanced but that really doesn't matter because there are so many. As a dungeon master you can pick and choose which ones you like and add them to your world. A personal favorite of mine is Death Spider which turns one of a targeted creature's limbs into a spider that tries to murder them. Quality.
