This is a good adventure! Some spoilers. The strongest aspects are the timed progression of events over the night (with corresponding system to track time) and the mystery with clues set up along Oak Street. The weakest aspect is the 13-year gap (Baphomet is not patient) between the old murders and those the adventurers will be dealing with, though this is easily changed. I'd want the gap to be long enough for the newsman to get cold feet, but not so long as to reasonably expect that clues will have been removed. I think somewhere on the order of 1-3 months would be about right or 13 weeks if you're especially fond of that number.

Absolutely incredible! Mysteries can be incredibly challenging to pull off but Justice keeps the structure efficient and the adventure ever moving forward. Would recommend for any table looking to add a bit of mystery and horror to their game.

Heart Hunt is an excellent, suspenseful supernatural investigation/exploration adventure. (But with plenty of opportunities for combat and social interaction!) What looks to be a case of Jack-the-Ripper-inspired horror turns out to be an action/murder mystery. No tired, traditional "railroad" plot. Instead, this is cleverly set in a single small neighborhood with just the right number of foes and clues scattered for the heroes to find in their own way... plus a schedule of atmospheric events culminating in a dramatic "deadline". Well written and organized with evocative, yet concise descriptions.

The only change I would recommend is adding either an appendix or separate file of the relevant creature stat blocks that come from official sources for convenience (since with the DMs Guild you can!). Though I will say the two original stat blocks included are great!

Really hoping I get to run this for a group around Halloween!

My D&D group really enjoyed playing this. It has a dark sense of mystery without feeling impossible. It incorporates a lot of options for players in a way that is still very smooth to DM. Plus, the timing mechanic builds urgency without being complicated. Basically, it's richer than a lot of one shots but still very approachable. Highly recommend!

Excellent! Justice offers a simply written, yet interesting adventure plot. It is easily adapted to any genre of role playing. He includes links to an article, "The Trajectory of Fear" by Ash Law. This short read will assist novice and experienced GMs alike in building tension around a horror story. Justice includes suggestions within the module for adding suspense using the article as a guide.

Definitely worth the dollar to invest in Justice and his writing. I found it a worthwhile read, knowing full well I will probably never GM again. I was worth it just for the pleasure of the read.

A great one-shot for Halloween combining elements of the legend of Jack the Ripper with demon cult fun!

Pros: +Excellent layout +Pacing is well crafted +Timetable on page 1 is very handy! +I appreciate the link to the guide on handling horror!

Cons: -Some grammatical errors throughout the text are minor, but could add some polish. I'll send a complete list via DM to the author. -Some minor syntax errors in the statblocks can be edited to bring them up to standards

Other Notes: The bless effect from the +1 Sword in the tavern ended up coming in very handy for my group of 3 4th-level adventurers (khenra war cleric from the Plane Shift: Amonkhet supplement, a wood elf inquisitive rogue and a human drunken master monk), especially during the final encounter in the courthouse. Even placing the barlgura, cult fanatic and cultist in the courtroom, my party of three managed to survive the encounter and bring their own brand of justice to the demon cult.
