In the interest of full transparency, I also wrote a supplement for playing children in the 7th Sea, as such, I will avoid comparing the two.
First off this is a very good-looking supplement, almost pretty. The author has a flair for a good-looking product.
It starts out with a short story that intermittently peppers the supplement, adding a flair to the concept. The rules proceed in the same order as building a Hero in the core book:
- Step 0: Concept, he adds a series of questions intended to set up how to approach playing a Young Hero.
- Step 1: Traits, a few minor adjustments to reflect experience and age.
- Step 2: Nation. nothing new here.
- Step 3: Background, the author gives you an optional Background “Young Heroic Adventurer” and explains the concept of core Backgrounds for a Young Hero.
- Step 4: Skills, more adjustments reflecting experience and age.
- Step 5: Advantages, here we get into the crunchy bits for Young Heroes. The author gives us 30 new Advantages that add good flavor to a Young Hero. “Found It Under The Couch” and “Oops, I shouldn’t have touched that” being my two favorites.
- Step 6: Arcana, here he gives us three new Arcanas just for the Young and young at heart.
- Step 7: Stories & Story Starters, just like the Core Book, but the author adds some great suggestions for a Young Heroic story.
He ends with a word on Children and Violence, giving tools on how to handle those awkward moments.
If you plan on playing Young Heroes, this is a solid set of rules to do so.

I really appreciate all the dicegeek products. They are very well done and useful. This product is no exception, in fact it was more than I expected. Names, weird things you can find everywhere. As someone who loves lists and tables this is an excellent find. My only complaint is that it’s a series of image files rather than text files.

I've been looking for a resource such as this for a long time! The encounter tables alone are well worth the price. But the rules and details and optional skill uses just add to the value.
Good product for a good value.

Some good rumors to drop into the conversations around the tavern or streets of any town. If your players follow them then you have a little detail to help you formulate a side trek. If they don't then you have just added a little colour to the game.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
First off let me say thea this is a very structured moduel and I'm an "on the fly" GM. I found the structure a bit more restricting than I like but the ammount of detail left NOTHING out!
This is a well written story very much along the lines of Call of Cthulhu RPG. The background is detailed, the characters well thought out. and best of all it is creepy!

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Satisfied
This offers a great selection of plain, thoe not quite ordinary, non-magical items that you can drop into your "loot".
Great for any GM who wants to reward their players without giving them just gold or an overpowering magic item.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
This is a good simple adventure for the New GM. It is broken out into six "Episodes" that can each be played in on sitting bringing the characters for zero to first level {AD&D}.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
Ahoy! Permission to come aboard!!!
Once again Adamant has done a wonderful job in suplying us with Piratical goodness!
The write up on Port Royal is a must for any seafaring campaign, weather it is high fantisy or low. Encounters, plot hooks, people and places. A wonderful bit of fluff. The map {as well as all the other artwork} is superb. The layout is excelent.
The NPC are, as always, good with great crunchy & fluffy bits.
And the adventure found at the end will deffanatly be inflicted on my players...

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
I prefer to run my campagnes on the "fly". Typically I stay away from set modules, I would rather use their ideas than follow their script. So I was delighted to see a book of ideas! And there is 100 of them!!!
The layout looks good, the ideas are easy to follow, compleet with Hook, Line & Sinker detail. As you can guess there are several "old" ideas and a few "rewords" of the same plots. Non-the-less it is good find!

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
The crunchy bits are a bit old {AD&D}, but that's an easy fix. What you have left is a story full of gteat fluff!
You are guided on a tour through the Carnival by three different characters who live withen it's wagons. The views are loos enough that you can have some leway with the "truth".

LIKED: It gave me a plethoria of great ideas. And some wonderfully colourful characters!

DISLIKED: The plot hooks at the end were weak.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
By far one of the best resources for a seafaring campagin I've seen. The statistics are realistic without overwelming the detail.
The rules for movement and atmospher effects are comprehensive and fluid.

LIKED: Crew size and crew complement information was very eye opening.

DISLIKED: Ship measurments are lacking to non-existant

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
