Very excited to be building my witch pc together with my dm. All of the covens are going to be present in our world, Wheel of Time style, and are going to be engaged in ancient schemes, cunning manipulation and intrigue. Looking forward to playing them <3

Though I've not had the chance to play one at the table as of yet I love the flavor of the class as a whole and the subclasses are so well thought out! Great stuff!

I love this class tremendously. Whenever I try to compare it to Wizard or Warlock to my party, I struggle because it's just so perfectly Witch-y. The class is balanced overall, with the spell list picking from Wizard's utility, Warlock's weirder damaging spells, and a touch of Druid's natural vibes, but it's Witch first- by default a Witch has access to Polymorph and Reincarnate but not Revivify, which is assume is because that theming of changing people's forms comes first. More importantly, it has an excellently picked spread of subclasses that round all the possible 'vibes' of witchery that one would use the class for. I've been using the subclass in a seafaring campaign, playing a sea-elven Coven of the Eclipse witch who learned magic by taking secretary jobs for magic clubs and organizations and copying their stuff. It's the creepy, devil-dealing subclass that eventually rewards an fiendish hag form, and has been perfect for playing off a sly and creeper actual witch between combat, social, and a bit of exploration.

Utility, utility everywhere one looks. Even the subclasses that seem geared into DPS can not seem to help but gain odd tricks that are left up to those who take them to make into something useful.

I love it.

Secretly, the Witch is my tribute to the Controller class role in 4e, which I enjoyed immensely. ;) Having a character set up around greasing the wheels for other party members is obviously very useful, and plays into the practical-magic aspect of witches quite nicely.

I have done an extensive search through all 5E Witch classes for my home campaign. I did a blog post where I went through my research (which can be found here: https://madgamingmadness.blogspot.com/2021/03/fantastic-friday-witch-class-in-d-part-1.html) Out of all the classes I've read, this is my favorite implementation. It's solid, flavorful, and has a lot of options. Highly recommended!

I research witchcraft and magic academically, and have long been disappointed by how witch traditions are split amongst Warlocks, Druids, and Wizards in DnD. This supplement brilliantly combines all of these features and adds others that are absent from the RAW classes: excellent familiars, potion-craft, doll magic, jynxes, and a diverse set of subclasses that can both build out lore and inspire creative player choices. The new spells are also AMAZING. I run two campaigns and my players are buzzing with ideas about how to use these for our next one-shot or later characters, or to encounter them in the world.

Class design is hard, y'all. I'm so glad someone did this so I don't have to. Many thanks for the incredible work!

The Witch, a character class of natural arcana and the old ways of magic

From the aptly named Warlock Homebrew.

This PDF was 17 pages when I first downloaded it. It grew to 29 sometime between then and now. The PDF is full color and sells for $5.00 suggested PWYW.

The cover is fantastic and the artist, Diana Nock, is credited. So far this is very good.

The table of contents is hyperlinked. It looks like some great content inside too. Witches are called the "Acolytes of the First Magic" next to the art of their iconic witch Nathilda Pickingill and her familiar Malefelies. She wears a proper witches hat, carries a proper witches broom (with a dream catcher no less), and her hooded cloak is clasped shut with a triple goddess symbol.

At this point, I feel like I am being flirted with.

There is a full 20 level Witch progression table. A note about Gender. Even the 20th level power is "Grand Old Wytch." I guess "Grand Olde Wytch" was a step too far. This witch is an "Intelligence" caster.

There are rules for Ritual Casting in line with D&D 5's ritual casting. Rules on familiars (with great art) INCLUDING backgrounds for familiars! How great is that?

If Pathfinder witches get Hexes then these witches get Jinxes. Ok, I like that. Magical powers for potions and brooms.

Sub-classes are known as Covens (perfect) and there are Covens of the Dark Moon, Full Moon, Half Moon, Crescent Moon, and. There is even a Coven of the Eclipse and a Coven of the Lost Moon. There is even a sidebar about what to do if your moons on your world are different. Ok, now I feel positively flirted with and I am beginning to blush.

There is a very extensive list of Witch Spells from various sources and 12 new spells. There is even guidance on which of these new spells can be used by other classes.

All in all, this is one of the best Witch Class books I have seen on DMSGuild so far. A significant cut above the rest. I would happily play one of these witches.

One of my favorite, and most fleshed-out homebrew classes I have found. This class is well-balanced, with lots of room to experiment with different characters and styles. The art and design is top notch. Stop reading and get it already!

Perhaps one of the finest classes you will find on this entire website, a fullcaster built from the ground up to deliver on the fantasy that we think of when want hags and cackling witches. A wonderful experience from start to finish, and an exceptionally exciting melding of flavor and function.

While you'll find this mechanically somewhere between Druid and Wizard, it burgeons as its own identity and its own mechanical gamespace. Absolutely worth a purchase.

I was tempted to say that the initial build of this class was underwhelming at best, but the recent (Oct. 2019) update of the PDF really changed my opinion for the better.

If you're looking for a solid spellcasting class with numerous options and a fleshed-out niche in the party, or you're looking for an interesting influence for possible NPCs, this homebrew delivers spectacularly. It even adds more spells that bold DMs might consider allowing other classes to access.

I've never been a fan of "full" classes. I think a strength of 5e is the archetype system, which allows us to customize classes with themes. There's no reason one couldn't make bards or warlocks with a witch archetype. Heck the upcoming Alchemist archetype would likely even be a good fit.

HOWEVER if you're gonna have a witch be a full class, this is a great one to have. Giving you a selection of Archetypes (here, Covens) Jinxes (think Invocations), and spells the Witch plays like a warlock but your power comes from a communal source in nature (tied to phases of the moon), instead of an otherworldly one.

I'm one of those DMs who loves crafting their own custom content when a player asks for it. But if I had a player ask to be a witch? I'd just hand them this. It functions similarly to a warlock, but is mechanically different enough that I wouldn't want to try and map it to one. Also all the narrative stuff, the fluff bits, are top notch.

As always, Walrock hits it out of the park.

This is actually super amazing!! Super excited to play some witch characters and will be sure to pay some more money to it when I can. I love the thematic elements of the familiar and the broom and all the Jinxes add a bunch of cool and supr customizable things to play around with
