A lot of D&D classes are thematic, based on archetypes we recognize from fantasy. Aragorn the Ranger, Roland the Paladin, Merlin the Magician, and the kung fu heroes of wuxia cinema. This helps the players connect their hero to heroic figures they recognize. I wouldn't have given this product a second look because of how generic it sounded. To me, it seems like this could have been handled by a background, with the player being a ranger or paladin. However, I got this class for a player of mine that wasn't into fantasy that much. The two characters that were relatable to him were Geralt of Rivia, because he played the Witcher 3, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which he watched when he was in high school. He seems pretty excited about it this class, and I feel like it doesn't look OP. I am worried about the ability the Undead Slayer has that lets it bypass damage reductions at first level. It isn't specific whether this bypasses immunities. If it does, I'll probably nerf that.
