Great adventure! High quality across the board, but the maps were particularly impressive (I ran this on on a VTT so having great player-friendly maps is a huge plus).

My group and I got into this game a couple months back and have been loving it! The core mechanics are pretty straightforward (opposed d20 for combat, dice ladder for skill and ability checks) so it is fairly easy to pick up, but there is ton of "crunch" in terms of rules options - character races and classes, skills, abilities, spells, etc. There are well developed subsystems for stuff like alchemy, rune magic, etc. It is definitely more "rules heavy" than many recent games, but everything is intuitive and well-though out so the game plays pretty smoothly at the table. The setting is excellent and really nails the dark fantasy/ sword & sorcery vibe. The game world feels grim and dangerous with enough depth and detail to support a dozen campaigns that never cover the same ground.

A fun adventure that takes the "kill rats in the cellar" trope and does something cool and interesting with it. There are some lighthearted comedic elements that wouldnt' work with some campaigns, but should be easy enough to modify or eliminate if you want a grittier adventure.

Finally, the maps are absolutely top noch - what I would expect to find in a AAA product from a major publisher, not as an add-on to a PWYW product.

As someone that grew up playing games like Baldur's Gate, the "kill rats in the cellar" is a trope that is dear to my heart. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

An excellent adventure and a promising start to a cool adventure path!

While many low level adventures tend toward the generic this one is full of memorable encounters, cool details, and distincitive NPCs. Even if you don't run this one, there are half a dozen ideas that you are going to want to steal for your own adventures.

The production quality is pretty good for a DMG product - formatting is nice and there few typos or gramatical errors. The maps are very well done, my only quibble is that the player safe map has location numbers in a couple of rooms, which is less than ideal for using with VTT.

I'm looking forward to the next adventure in the series.

Journey Through the Center of the Underdark 2 - The Darklake Strikes Back

Great Product! The individual encounters are interesting and the dungeon is flavorful and well thought out. While it is specifically written for the OotA campaign it can very easily be turned into a memorable stand-alone adventure.

My only quibble is that I would have liked to have seen player friendly maps included for use with VTT, but that is a minor complaint.

If you are running OotA or any other underdark-based adventure you should absolutely pick this up. The encounters are all well done, and many really work with Alice in Wonderland theme of OotA.

Temple of the Nightbringers - Adventure

The production values of this product are quite good. Unfortunately the adventure itself is pretty much a straightforward "goblin cave" dungeon crawl like 90%+ of the first level adventures out there. There is one big plot twist, and while I appreciate the attempt to do something creative, it is a twist that I personally found silly and implausable.

For $1.50 I can't complain too loudly about this adventure - I enjoyed it at least as much as the bottle of Mtn. Dew I would otherwise have spent the money on. I would definitely check out other products by this author, but this is one simply did not click for me.

Depths of Felk Mor

This is a big, though unfortunately somewhat uneven megadungeon adventure. Many elements work quite well, but other sections fall flat.

The strength of this adventure is the use of Lovecraftian horror which adds a ton of character to what could otherwise feel like a generic megadungeon. The best section of the dungeon is a large open cavern with several competing factions for the players to interact with. However, this is the only part of the dungeon that feels like a real, dynamic place. Notably, the final (and largest) section of the dungeon comes off as a "fun house" which has no rhyme or reason other than providing challenges for the players to overcome on their way to fight the big bad. The lack of good overviews for the adventure or sections further makes it feel like this is just a bunch of rooms for players to explore with no larger plot or purpose behind it.

The production values are decent for a third party publication. In particular, the art is excellent. However, like many third party products it often reads like a first draft manuscript that no one ever got around to reviewing or editing.

All in all this is a mixed bag, but it is well worth the $10. I'd give it 3.5 stars, but will add a bonus half star because this may be the first work in the English language with express references to both H.P. Lovecraft and West Side Story.

Great product, poor quality scans - the text is fuzzy (though legible) and the text/art from the back side of the page bleeds through. Some pages (e.g. 1&2) are missing a strip off the edge.
