Another great Tier 1 AL adventure from Dave Zajac. I was not surprised that it was good but I was presently surprised by such an interesting story. One Blood the goblin is great to roleplay (I played him as Walder Frey from Game of Thrones and constantly complained about my idiot children during every battle) and the battle with the Half Ogres was just fantasic! Great choices to be made, useful skill checks, and NPC's with depth are continuing hallmarks of this author's work. This is a must-buy for any adventure collection. Oh, lest I forget: All battle maps are included in their own PDF as FULLY SCALED pages that print across several sheets. Best feature for map printing, saves tons of prep time. Just make sure you print at 100% scale (not fit to sheet or any other auto setting).

I just realized I hadn't come on here to rate these amazing adventures! I first encountered this series as a player at the Gamex convention in Los Angeles in May 2018. I played the entire arc and I LOVED the story! Then, in October 2018, I ran this entire arc as a DM both in person and online. I am in love with Dave Zajac now because he put such lovely detail and heart into the series: the document layout, the beautiful color maps, the use of varied and little seen creatures from 5th Edition, the use of weather and exhaustion mechanics, a handicapable person with a great background, one of the only fun underwater adventures I've ever dealt with, and on and on. I was a turd to forget to write the review so today I was on my dmsguild update page when I saw that all 4 adventures had been updated for Season 8. This amazing creator went into each adventure and gave us 2 pages of detailed rewards info (including a page of just the magic items with tables that can be printed for each player) that is just as clear and to the point as everything else about these adventures. If you haven't played these 4 adventures yet, buy them and pass them to a DM who will run them. I doubt you will find a more interesting Tier 1 series than this. If you're a DM, buy this entire set now and enjoy your deep dive into the intricacies of Torm and Bane and all the fun you can have incorporating that into your roleplay.

From the minute I started reading this adventure, I knew it was going to be a pleasure to run. The author put painstaking detail into the map, the details about Winton and it's residents and even listed the magic item table for the item unlock. The result of all this hard work is an adventure that is thoroughly engaging and easy for a DM to prep. I ran this for a group this weekend as an Adventurer's League Season 8 module and my entire table of 5 veteran players was intrigued and excited by the mystery and amused by the comical elements. Personally, I was very much impressed by the various types of Kobolds used in the encounters (several of which I had never run into). I speak for myself and my players when I say that we are very excited to see what happens in Winton next.

This is the single most helpful dmsguild.com purchase I have ever made! Riddle of the Raven Queen is a FANTASTIC adventure full of roleplay opportunities and these maps turned my session into something amazing. I love to be Dungeon Master...but I cannot draw. When you are about to run an 8 hour adventure, there's already a fair amount of prep time. This map pack and the related Rotted Heart map pack saved me soooooo much time. The beautiful detailed maps were already worth the purchase price (and you get DM and player versions PLUS VTT versions) but the real gem in these map packs is the pre-scaled PDF that allowed me to print the player maps with 1" grids by just printing a multipage PDF file. While prepping to run White Plume Mountain last month, I spent 3+ hours reading instructions, downloading programs, learning those programs and then editing maps just to be able to print them out in color and to scale. My players were so excited to see these beautiful maps and when I told them about the pre-scaled PDF they were all impressed. Tips: write a directional arrow and a number on each page and bring 3x5 index cards. The arrows will make it fast for you to place the maps down like puzzle pieces during gameplay and index cards will allow you to hide parts and reveal them easily as the players explore.

After having played through this once as a player and twice as a DM, I can honestly say this module is a crowd pleaser. I just ran it again tonight and the adventure went completely off the rails once the players decided to double cross the double crossers! Great fun was had by all each player got to use some of their strength. Make sure you read through this one very well! You want to be clear on what should be happening where during the main event. Rosealine Culkin's manor is massive and so is the Chapterhouse. Make sure you draw the maps beforehand, if possible.
