The Lucanii Drift

This is really good stuff. The art is evocative and well done. The writing is clear, and there is enough material here for years of play. I would probably use this as is with little or no modifications. The author added my beloved Andorians, sorry! Entirrans... The space combat rules have been tweaked to reflect FASA's ST's 1st edition. Although, one minor complaint... My 2nd favorite race is missing! Where are the Tellarites?

Anyone who's purchased the awesome Spaceships & Spacemen 2e should buy this.

Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerers of Hyperborea (Original Edition)

This is a lot of RPG for 10 bucks... The art is fantastic. The game system is excellent (modeled after AD&D 1st edition) and the campaign world is very rich. I'm still reading through (and there's a lot to read) and I keep giggling like a school girl when I see the bits and pieces of this game. I was prepping for a Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG campaign this fall, but this game is quickly gaining popularity.

I give it a score of A+. I would give it A++ if they had included a full map of the world. Right now, they broke down the map into 9 pages for assembly. A PDF of the whole map would have been appreciated.

PS. I am no way affiliated to whomever wrote this game. Thank you.

Very good software. I am planning on using it in all my fantasy games from now on. I don't think there could be higher praise. That being said, I would like to see more non dungeon stuff...

Delving Deeper - Monk (Labyrinth Lord)
Publisher: Brave Halfling Publishing

[In the interest of full disclosure. I got this product for free]

Delving Deeper - Monk provides the Monk class for the Labyrinth Lord rulebook (available for free from Goblinoid Games)

1) First Impression The Monk has definitely more details than the previous Delving Deeper entries. It has the most pages as well (7 pages). There is also more artwork

2) Layout The layout is clean and follows the core rulebook in look and feel

3) Artwork The Artwork is really evocative of the source material. I really enjoyed the artwork on page 4 (showing a monk back kicking the tar out of an Orc)

4) Content The Monk class offers an attractive alternative to LL's core classes. As to be expected, the Monk class gets better Armor Classes, dishes more hand to hand damages and gains a list of special abilities like Awareness, Evasion, Purity of Mind, Friend of the Beasts, etc...

I am not sure about the Friend of the Beasts. Talking to animals in my mind should be relegated to the Druid class (hoping to see it from those guys). Also, I was disappointed in not seeing some kind of missile deflection abilities...

I can't complain too much... the Monk class offers very powerful abilities. Endless purity is extremely powerful (allowing to duplicate the effects of Death Spell, Charm Person, Cure Disease, Cure Critical Wounds, or Hold Person within limits per day)

5) Overall Probably the most comprehensive supplement of the series (although the Bard is still my favorite class- but I'm just the GM). Go buy it!!

PS. For those that complain that I'm only giving 5 stars for these products... Here's my response: How much did you spend on your 3.5 games? So far my Labyrinth Lord campaign material has cost me less than 3 bucks... 'Nuff said.

Pretty much a no-brainer... if you like Labyrinth Lord RPG, this supplement is well written, well formatted and it is dirt cheap. I am looking forward to buy any future products from this series. Special remark about the Bard. I think this is my favorite class so far in the DD series and of any retro-clone RPG or the original and its later editions. The bard in my mind should not cast spells... This version comes with special abilities that make it a playable and formidable option. Again, good job.

I would have preferred a top view of these items. Also, I would lose the black background and use a clear one.

Creator Reply:
Hi Stephane, Thank you for the feedback. I am passing on your suggestions to the creator of the counters for future releases. I have also asked him if it would be very difficult to provide these changes as an option on this set of counters. If he is agreeable, we will obviously make it available for free to anyone that has purchased this set and prefers the top down imagery and a clear background (I had asked for black to go along with the space-black counter maps that many sci fi gamers use). Take care! William ComStar
