I ran this module a few weeks ago as a standalone adventure for some friends who were home on military leave and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. It was perfect for a one shot adventure. This can easily be incorparared into ongoing campaign as well. My players really enjoyed the nods to Grayhawk, Spelljammer, and Planescape woven into this adventure. The pacing was well suited for a oneshot adventure, but there are lots of opportunities for a DM to expand on the material without detracting from the plot. I appreciated the open play style, layout, and structure. It is divided into three distinct parts which makes it easy to expand to fit a larger campaign or run it over multiple sessions if you need.
The plot and layout make good use of Mordenkainens Tome of Foes, but doesn't over do it with random mosters just for the sake of having them. It gives a good tour of the lower planes, featuring a few exotic environments to place your encounters. It has well placed skills checks that allow the players take advantage of the party's diverse strengths and breaks up the combat sequences between them nicely. There are plenty of opportunites for role play with lots of unique items and locations to explore.
If you are looking to delve into the lover planes and want a self-contained adventure to introduce your players to them, I higly recommend this adventure. Special thanks to Sean McGovern (PowerscoreRPG) for his play through of this adventure on youtube.
