DDAL07-15 Streams of Crimson
Publisher: D&D Adventurers League
by Andy X. [Verified Purchaser]

Module is extreme for regular Tier 4 Adventure League Players.

The changes to special spells and effects were a great addition. Everytime something unusual happened like Radiant Damage Meteor Swarm, Redemption + Ancient Paladin Aura,Tattoo'ed Rods of Absorption. We all laughed and were in awe. The creativity in the module is amazing, we loved all of the neat mechanics and changes. Our party was successful, nothing unmanagable but once again.

This module would have been way too extreme for normal AL players. I can see random pick up groups just fail less than 30 minutes into the module. Not everyone can survive that many meteor swarms.

Very enjoyable until the finale. The puzzles and encounters were very unique. The end boss was either a save or die, not a big fan of those.

As written wasn't challenging and traps didnt feel deadly. Other than that, the design is really cool. The traps were very complex, the encounter was unique being able to bounce eye rays through portals. The final boss was too easy for a season finale.

Traps and encounters are actually threatening for tier 4 players. If only more t4 modules were written this way.

Similiar to Redemption of Kelvan, if you did not have the proper team to handle the final stages of the module, it becomes near impossible to finish. The first parts of the module were very fun and entertaining. Passing through the storm. Visting the Temple. After Dming it 7 times, many players were unable to get across the wall near the end. This lead to the party being split and many players were unable to do anything. The final fight was difficult for parties without spellcasters meanwhile parties with spellcasters finished it too easily. My longest run time was about 4 hours as the party was unable to cast any spells. The fastest was 1:30 minutes as the room was meteor swarmed. At least i learned to add monsters that can't instantly die to meteor swarm.

I enjoyed most of the module, the rooms were really interesting until the ice room. Other than the ice room, the puzzles were enjoyable and the combat was challenging.

Combat was really difficult for the players. Failed saves means the player is out for the rest of the module. The players were relieved at the end of the module because it was over.

Having enemies able to completely remove a character from AL play should not belong in any tier is my opinion, many dms won't use the plane shift or extract brain or the Brain stealing feature. Those that do will make this module a nightmare. The puzzle section was interesting but a large table of players fighting over the pieces was not a good experience or having players not do anything while a few solved it. The combat was not hard it was frustrating. The only thing i liked about this module was it was a T2, its short and the reward item is amazing.

A rather short module, way shorter than 2 hours and the map wasn't too clear. I liked the possible ways that the players could have dealt with the encounter.

Love the new enemies listed, it adds more flavour to combat. its not a hit or miss fest. Not too keen on the explosive ending.
