Gave one of my players the journal to read in small parts. He just got to a particular section that left him open mouthed for at least 5 minutes. Such a handy little addition to the campaign. Well worth it.

A beautifully created document that lays out vital information that the party would have trouble learning in any other way. I think this really helped my party figure out how they felt about the Abbot and how they wanted to deal with him. The only thing that caused me a little trouble was that the Abbot in my campaign was tied to a custom deity, and the document contains explicit references to the Morninglord, but obviously that won't affect most groups.

I like the idea though the execution leaves something to be desired. if your planning format this like a small book than put the pages in an order that when printed they can be stacked and folded like a book. I dont like how every other page is black in the book when printing it this way.

Well worth the $0.75! My players loved it, and it fit right in. Had to transition them as best as I could to a Fantasy Grounds format, since I don't currently do face to face games. But it was worth it! Thanks! May want to see about doing that. :)

AWESOME tool for running COS. I printed out the blank paged version and made it into a bound journal for a big reveal. I would highly recomend this product because it adds such a cool element to the story and helps deepen the character of the Abbot in Krezk!

This would be 5 stars but I also had to spend 30 minutes reformatting it to have it print properly.

This is a great item to let your players in on the deterioration of the abbot's faith and the lore surrounding him in a way that they'll actually be able to decipher. Unfortunately, the font choices really hinder this journal's believability. The script is very round and bubbly for the first part, and emphasizes words using bold. There's a section with the words "I am at my wit's end" which is the only believable font until the madness descends. Still, the fonts tell a cohesive story and I cannot fault them there.

Like the author's (Carl Huber, who has several nice products on DMs Guild) other "book" product, Curse of Strahd: The Tome of Strahd with Cypher UPDATED, this "Abbot's Journal" has great artwork and will make your player's say "oh cool!" when you give them this handout.

Unlike his Tome of Strahd product, this PDF file isn't print-ready for double-sided booklet printing (you can't just print and fold). But that's not a big deal. Just:

1. print all the pages single-sided,
2. fold the cover in half and set it aside,
3. cut the rest of the pages in half,
4. stack the interior-pages half-sheets in sequence (just like they appear in the PDF),
5. put the interior pages in the folded cover,
6. staple the edges of the interior pages to the cover,
7. optional: trim the outside edges with a paper cutter to remove the white margins

It's well worth the $0.75 suggested pay-what-you-want price, to give your players a fun D&D moment while advancing the plot.

This Abbot's journal is awesome!! I know some reviews said they had problems assembling it, but I just printed it, folded the pages and taped them together and it worked just fine. I had Ezmeralda give this to my adventurers prior to encountering the Abbot. My players were immediately intrigued and freaked out when they read it!! Such a great prop for those running CoS. Two thumbs up. Highly recommended.

The artistry on this is spectacular! Unfortunately it does not print out as a booklet as promised.

Really well made. It gives more flavour in a background character who is already really interesting. A very nice addition for the Curse of Strahd campaign!
