100 Alien Flea Market Goods

As someone who has bought several Dark Quest products in the past(namely Pouch and Bag Contents, Arcane Book Subjects, and Treasure Chest contents) I was expecting something a little more tailored to the situation. Dark Quest is known for it's sense of humor and genre awareness. This contained neither. Aside from a couple Specific entries, most things here could be found at any flea market. All it really does is lead questions like "What exactly does a martian coal bucket look like, anyway?"

Dreadfully poor value for money, even at the price.

I expected a fairly thin piece of work (at the price, naturally it would be), but I expected at least some meat on the bones for the 100 items - a one sentence description, perhaps a few broken down categories. This really is just a list of 100 vague descriptions of items - such as "Antiques/Collectables" - and for a busy GM trying to run a game, that's absolutely no help at all.

For something purporting to be an Alien Flea Market, there's nothing in it which feels alien.

I just feel cheated - out of a trivial amount of money, granted, but even for free I'd feel somewhat taken aback that someone thought this worth sharing.

I love sci-fi stuff, especially when there is technical information. Ship components, weapon designs and tricorder internals are all interesting to me. So I thought it would be nice to add some strange alien things to a game, and this list seemed like it had some new items that would do just that. Sadly, most of the items on this list you would find at any large modern flea market. There are a couple of things that are nice, but I expected many more futuristic items, or at least with a futuristic twist.

Nice list of items that you might see at any flea mark. There are enough items on the list to use it in a fanstasy games, although you will have to modify a few or reroll at times.

LIKED: Lots of iteresting items on the list...creative minds made this product.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
100 items! That seems like a lot. Not really, when they're a percentile-roll table of 100 general categories of items that fits on a single page (an achievement in minimalist layout by itself, if you like that sort of thing). Literally what you see in the cover image is the product. For what it is, the list is fairly comprehensive and includes some interesting ideas, but be aware that for your dollar, you're getting one table and no stats.

LIKED: Some useful ideas for types of items.

DISLIKED: I compare this to the ENWorld Pick'n'Mix items that sold for half the price. edit: To be fair, the product description is accurate, buyers should be sure to read it.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Disappointed

[THIS REVIEW WAS EDITED]
