This is a great companion to flesh out some of the elements for CoS. In addition, the setup is pretty simple to modify for other campaings that are homebrewed as well. The only issue I had, was the scale of the maps. I had to minimize the rooms to streamline it a little bit further than I would have liked. Otherwise my players would have squirreled all over the place until the entireity of the map was uncovered. This was a great session to run, espacially with the final encounter.

Ok, first of all, these are amazing ideas. So simple and excellent platforms to add intrigue into the campaign. Each story provides enough of a prompt to get any DM creativity flowing.

The Rat is one of my favorites, and I have used it in two seperate campaigns to introduce a theives guild the "drowned rats". A theives guild that walks through the sewers and underbellies of towns and cities. I'm also excited to run the "victorious" adventureres in my new campaign as well.

First of all, this was an excellent session to run. I ran it with 4 level 1s on their second mission as a side hook. The bloodied sheep in the road was a perfect segway. All of the players were trying to figure out what was going on. It was fairly well balanced too, witht he fight with the final boss being a hard/deadly encounter. One of the players nearly died (2/2 on death saving throws).

The only thing I would have liked, is a bit more on the layouts of the rooms in the home. This would aid in what rooms could be barricaded as a fall back position for tactical players.

Can't speak to the pre-gen characters, as my party was pre-existing. Party of 4 level ones had a blast going through this, and some of the NPCs will be taking a reoccuring role within the overall campaign. The pacing was nice and easily fit into a single session, however it could have easily run longer. There is so much within this free booklet that you can definitely build off of it.

Just ran this campaign again for a few friends that wanted a one shot. Wrapped into my other campaign as a side quest and it blended in perfectly. Extremly versatile, and cleverly paced. With my players, it ended up being two sessions.

Culinary Weapons: Equipment for Both the Martial and Culinary Arts

This was a fantastic suppliment. While my palyers are not nearly close enough to be effected by the man of fire, I can have them bring together his artifacts and perfrom a summoning throughout the game as a bonus to the campaign story.

The only thing that wasn't clear to me (and this could be me not picking up on it) is what makes him "Excited". If that could be clarified, then I think that it would be spot on. Excellent work on these fun culinary weapons.

Hi Decapitated! Thank you for the wonderful review! The [Excited] modifier comes from The Book of House, and that's something I should call out in this supplement to avoid future confusion. With the [Excited] modifier, he gets that additional reaction to rapidly attack any other creatures within range. The modifier and any text in green (the Reaction and the second Challenge Rating) can be removed if you don't need it, or if the Man of Flames isn't really feeling combat. That said, the Man of Flames is usually full of energy and ready to throw down at a moment's notice. I hope that helps!

This is a nice tool that can be used by new players. It's easy enough to follow, my personal opinion is it could look a little better. For instance, differing the colors of ACTIONS and INTERACTIONs to further separate their nature. I would also move the move and interaction elements closer together as the interactions can typically be performed during the move action. Overall, I like this and will definitely be using it for my players so I don't have to create one.
