This was a fun adventure to run. The plot is hilarious!

I would not recommend running it if you have players who are brand new to D&D at your table, as the rules for underwater combat, which the module does use, can make for an even more confusing playing experience. This is by no means a 2-hour module; my players skipped out on some encounters and ended up at a runtime of 3 hours. A 4-hour time slot would be more appropriate.

I was a little grumpy about the change in scale on the maps. I wish the maps were marked better. If you are prepping this, I would recommend marking where in the first map you would like traps to go off. If I remember correctly, the adventure suggests a number of encounters equal to your party's APL. You might want to scale that number down, depending on how your players have been handling things.

One of my all-time favorite adventures to run both for somewhat newer and veteran players! This adventure introduces something I've not seen before in Adventurer's League, an optional chance to try out experienced playable characters to try out some of the new class options introduced in Xanathar's Guide to Everything. The adventure itself features a rarely used mechanic through a good portion of the adventure, features a new selection of items, and includes a fun and detailed map compared to other modules, which I would recommend not using as a player map (if you tend to run with maps, I'd suggest just using small portions of it and letting the players discover it's secrets). It might not be the best adventure to run for a brand new player since you'll experience using a mechanic that's not heavily featured in many other mods, but it's a blast to try out the new class options and a great story!

The players really enjoyed this one. They had fun figuring out that they were in a fish tank. This one works best as a theater of the mind since the scale of everything can be very difficult to track. It is very difficult to keep with in 2 hours and easily can run much longer. The players also really enjoyed finding trinkets on bodies of the enemies and I think this is an under used aspect that more adventures should include. Players really enjoy finding stuff even if it doesn't give them anything of actual value.

It was a lot of fun! None of my players really got that they were in an extraordinary setting until the big reveal and they thought some of the fights were a bit tough for a low-level party but overall everyone said they had a good time.

I really enjoyed running the adventure and I thought the peppering of common magic items was a nice way to introduce some of my favorite things from Xanathar's Guide to Everything.

My only real criticism is that the adventure is meant to be run in a 2 hour slot but has way to much content to get through. I think it would be much better if it were recommended for a four hour slot and I'll likely run it as such in the future.

I loved running this adventure. The maps by Dyson Logo's is also fantastic. I printed it out to scale (well part of it) and it was glorious upon the table. This uses elements of the Forgotten Realms that I don't think have ever been used in quite this way, very imaginative and made my players very afraid of things they'd normally just ignore. Or try and steal.

Really enjoyed running this module. I only had one member in the party realize the setting before the major clues are presented (and really only because he is another AL DM). I battered a party of 6 lvl 3's with this one so it definetly can be a very challenging module. Loved it and the story award, and hope to get the module that utelizes this link.

This is a fun 2 hour adventure. It can technically run a bit faster than that, but it's unlikely given the fun environment. It is a bit hard to review because a big part of the fun is the reveal around where the adventure takes place. I won't spoil it here, but it works really well.

The encounters are interesting and entertaining, with neat foes and cool environments. The plot is engaging and there are some decisions for PCs to make which result in fun play. Various aspects can encourage roleplaying. Some of the combats use an open map, with the DM deciding when to place them. It is a nice compromise of open play, and the DM can add to it by using the general terrain features to add to the situations. I ran this for 6th and 8th graders and they absolutely loved it, but will work for any age group.

The rewards are cool, with several common items from the new book.

My only complaint is around the super-cool map, which is unlabeled. At first read it can be hard to figure out where you start! The DM should make notes as to where the encounters take place, which takes some time to figure out. Print out the map and label it during your prep and you will be fine.

This module is fantastic. The story is supspenseful and hilarious, and there's a large variety of options presented in the module. If you have a party that only cares about combat, you can keep throwing it at them throughout the module. If you have a party that likes to role play more, you can skip that and focus on all the atmosphere of the situation. An unforgiving ending which may anger newer players, but I enjoy the storytelling behind it, and it's a perfect fit for this wacky tale.

I rated this adventure 3.5 stars out of 5 It's a fair romp into the world of the Xanathar. His pet fish Sylgar makes an appearance #spoilers, and there is a very interesting reveal... which I won't reveal here. I ran this adventure for two brand new players and it was wonderful. The two hour design is spot on and it's a great, weird twist on conventional sorts of adventures. Both the players had a blast and want to play again so it's a winner in that department for sure.

The lack of a social interaction element is unusual. It wasn't difficult to add a bit in to represent this pillar but it's absence was felt. Also, the players were a little confused because the premise is being hired to find out about the Xanathar but they felt like they didn't accomplish the goal. Maybe that was a failing on my part to recognize where this goal was achieved though.

At any rate I am excited to see if this storyline continues (maybe it does and I simply didn't come across it yet?). This corner of the Forgotten Realms has long been a favorite of mine and a longer arc leading through investigations and conflicts with the Xanathar organization would be phenomenal!
