Pretty good game, like a 5e version of Basic D&D. It fills the same gaps Shadow Dark IMO but without much of the flair or superior concise writing in SD. It is still a great game, especially for new players.

Such a great book. It is both a very cool minimalist game system, which I first played at a Con. It also a fantastic GMs guide with d100 tables for damn near anything in world, dungeon, encounter, or monster creation you could ever need. Such a great value at the GMs day sale price too. Wish I had waited but I don't mind supporting independents who actually care about the RPG world.

Wow. It is hard to explain how complete this is. The contents include a GM guide, players guide, a lore guide, an adventure, and both a world and city map. The print number version of the map is worth the money. I can't wait to play. Goodman is truly one of the best publishers.

Great stuff when you need a quick sidequest to fit almost anything. Easy to alter and quick to run.

I'd heard the 1st edition was fantastic. Not a lot here that is value added. It seems like it has been dumbed down (a lot of the number and game stat theory is gone). I may just search for the 1st edition instead.

There is a set of rules for "X cards" /stress cards and rules for "accessibility" if you think you need these.

Just a total mess of a ruleset. Grab a die for this a die for that and a die for something else. If you have no something else then the GM will give you a sympathy die. Target number is 13. As a new character w mostly d6s, you fail almost every roll. Just so convoluted and not needed when their are so much simpler game systems that work much better. It would have been so much better to modify d20 or 5e and go from there. I lovedTop Secret the original edition, despite it also being clunky). I wouldn't buy this one again, but I do think most of the adventure modules have good plots.

Very handy and waaaay better than winging it during the battle.

Pretty decent module. I definitely prefer it over the "Not a creature was stirring" module I also bought, but did not run primarily because it had some strange bad guy I doubted the players would be invested in. Surely they'd want to rescue Santa!!! And it wouldn't be hard for them to imagine the North Pole.

I was running if for level 1 players. I took some liberties and made the final villain The Grinch instead of the sister of Santa, . Found a version of the Grinch for 5e online somewhere, gave him onion poison breath as his primary weapon and he escapes down the trash chute when his HP get below half.

If I ran it again, I'd probably make some kind of immediate attack when the sled lands at the north pole to get the attention of the players from the outset.
