While the premise is fairly decent, the execution leaves quite a bit to be desired. The artwork is... well, let's just say that if one of my daughters gave me one of these images I would happily hang it on the refrigerator and then throw it into the paper shredder once they had gone to bed. The grammar is acceptable, yet uninspired and bland. The whole thing could stand a complete rewrite by someone with at least a college-level education. While I commend the author on a valiant attempt at making a worthwhile download, it is nonetheless an attempt that falls drastically short of acceptability.

I rarely write reviews, mostly due to a lack of available time. I had to write one for this product, however.

This was bad. Just truly awful. You get what you pay for, and in this case that axiom is well and true.

The idea is an original one, but it's rather poorly executed. The layout is somewhat haphazard, and the prestige classes look like they weren't thought through for very long at all. There are numerous typos and grammatical errors, and this doesn't help the book either. Last and definitely least is the artwork. Everything in this book looks like it was drawn or painted by an enthusiastic twelve-year-old that posted her work on Deviant Art for everyone at her Junior High School to see. I'm fairly positive most of the images graced a refrigerator door or two in the past so that proud parents could see them. I'm sure some heart was put into the drawings and what not, but they were poorly executed at best.

I would suggest that someone replace the pictures with cosplay photos of persons throughout the realm. Simple editing techniques can remove the backgrounds, and the images could be turned gray scale, sepia toned or whatever the author desires. I'd also suggest an independent proof-reader look it over. I know it's a free product, but the intent of free products is to bring in interest to the main products. This will have the opposite effect.

Best of luck to whoever is in charge of this dog.

This program did everything it set out to do, and I was (for the most part) please with it. I would SERIOUSLY recommend a couple of changes, tho: 1) Support for screen resolutions higher that 1024 x 768. I run higher than that (1280 x 720) and it gets irritating having to adjust my resolution settings every time I run the program, just so that I can see all of the program buttons. 2) More than one song. The. Same. Song. Plays. Over. And. Over. Again. And. Again. And. Again. Several small atmospheric midi or wav files could break this up a bit and make it so that it's not so monotonous. The program worked well enough, and I liked the simulated e-mail server quite a bit. The Government ID Badge Creator was a tad lackluster in appearance, but it suffices. The props were good enough to use at a Halloween party I threw, so that was good. 3 out of 5. It would have been 5 out of 5, but the above problems really detracted from the program.

I actually own the hard-copy of this book, and I'm even happier to own the pdf now as well. Despite using the Storyteller system, it is NOT the World of Darkness. However, because the game uses the ST system, it's extremely playable. The ideas behind the gods having mortal children is very original, and well worth exploring. I DO wish that more gods were listed, but since there's a Wiki with fan-submitted gods, this isn't much of a problem. A great game, all in all.
