This was a great adventure, I just finished running it with a friend (I was DM and they were PC) the only thing that I feel that was a 'missing' ending that would have fit a more chaotic evil character

Loved it! I played this as a 2 PC game with my husband - we had a blast. Wasn't sure what to expect out of our first non-DM game, but we enjoyed the "choose your own adventure" aspect blended with genuine D&D play. It gave us enough room to play our characters organically without feeling railroaded while at the same time giving enough structure to move a story along without knowing what would come next.

A great amount of effort went into this product - the click-and-play interactive PDF alone is a terrific feature that more modules could benefit from - and the story was just the right size and scope to carry a couple low level PCs along. Well done!

Awesome! I had a blast playing through this as my first solo adventure. The detail put into the quests and descriptions were very well done and quite immersive. It took about 4ish hours for me to complete the adventure, which I think is totally worth the money. There's also room for replayability with other characters. My only complaint, which is minor, is that I wish there were more side options throughout the quest. I look forward to continuing the adventure in The Tyrant of Zhentil Keep!

This is an outstanding product. This was my first solo adventure and I didn't know what to expect. Let me tell you -- Death Knight's Squire provides a true D&D experience of the highest quality. I felt more attachment to my character and stress over the danger they were in than I had in a long time, because I knew I didn't have other party members to save me or cover for my weaknesses. The solo format amplifies all your character creation choices and forces you to focus on what your character can do and what their motivations are. For anyone who loves playing D&D, I highly recommend trying a solo adventure like this one because it will make you a better player. I played as a paladin so the way I played through this adventure will be completely different from how a rogue character would play because our strenths/weakness profile and alignment will be completely different. I was fortunate enough to survive my first play-through of this adventure without my character dying but believe me, survival is not guaranteed. You can expect a challenging and engaging D&D roleplaying experience from this solo adventure. 5 stars. I hope they make the entire series to level 20.

This is by far the most enjoyment I have had in a solo adventure! I like many of the comments I have seen am not able due to work and life meet with a gaming group on a consistent basis. I am usually stuck reading old adventures for fun, in those rare moments I do get to play with a group I am usually asked to be the DM. The adventure flowed very well for solo play and allowed the player to do the many different things which was a lot of fun. I loved the character class options such as: if you are a rogue go here, if you are a barbarian or wizard go here, very nice touch to class option specifics. I will not give away any spoilers, but I had 2 hp's left when I struck the final blow to complete the adventure, very well balanced and fun. The only thing I would add is perhaps larger areas and more obstacles with the locations and maps, I normally play a rogue and movement is key to most encounters. There isn't room to dash etc. I know that the pages had to be small for printing etc. but all areas and rooms are really small spaces. Much thanks to the author for these solo adventures and the format of embedding links in the PDF which is great. He (the author) has stated that he intends to start here and go all the way to level 20 with an adventure for each level. I am onboard for that! I am going to go and buy the second one "Tyrant of Zhentil Keep" right now, I will buy each one as he releases them, loads of fun. Definitely worth the price, much content here and a lot of replay in this module. I intend to run a few other character classes through it also.

Excellent solo run. I've ran it with two PCs so far and thoroughly enjoyed each run. I will be purchasing further entries into this series as they release to continue my character's journey. Thank you for one of the better solo play modules I've seen in awhile.

Excellent work. Id like to run it as an intro for two PCs (kids). You mentioned you could supply a complete map to do this. Is that possible ?

First time I ran through a Solo adventure since I was a kid. Death Knight's Squire was well written and well done. I left the maps up in one window and the pdf in another. The links in the adventure book pdfs made it flow really well. I am hopping over to buy the sequel now. Keep them coming Paul Bimler!

Excellent story, well put together, really enjoy the concept of being able to do solo or duo adventures without a DM, keep up the good work

As an individual who is typically a dungeon master this gave me an opportunity to play myself. I had quite a bit of fun with it, and tried it a few different ways with a few different characters just to explore the options. I really think this is a great concept and appreciate all the hard work that must have gone in to it. Sure, I would love to see a little more depth and a few more options, but I can appreciate the effort and work that makes everything flow very well. I really appreciated the "clickable pdf" which makes this flow almost seamlessly. Personally, I dropped the maps and my character into roll20 and found it worked very well. I enjoyed the adventure and will try more of these. This product could also serve as a great resource for a new DM who wants to learn more about flow and reinforces things like making steath/perception checks, checking for traps, making sure you have the right tools to open chests, etc. The graphics and visuals are very well done too. Keep up the good work.

This is a fantastic resource, although I died on my first and second try so far with a 19hp warlock (my favourite kind of character). There's definitely replay value here and a couple of surprieses. Also a nice emerging storyline with choose-your-own-path through the adventure. I'm looking forward to more products like these.

This is a pretty fun adventure! I died the first time around as a ranger, but had a great time traversing an alternate path on my second run. It took me about 1.5 hours to beat, and I nearly died in the last encounter due to unlucky rolls. I didn't explore all the tiles, but did encounter most of the main events. I'm looking forward to trying this out as a wizard when I can spare the time.

This adventure also inspired me to publish my own 5e Solo Adventure, which I recently released on the Dungeon Masters Guild. My adventure takes a different approach to the storytelling, with a more dramatic narrative and comprehensive plotline. This adventure feels more like a dungeon crawler with it's tile based progression, but I feel that it lacked story and noteworthy characters. Both styles have their strengths and weaknesses, and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next! We need more of these!

Keep up the good work!

As a DM, I rarely get to play a PC and this is exactly what I wanted when I read the words "solo adventure." The story is interesting and exciting, and it gave me the same feel as playing in an actual group. Also good for DM inspiration. Will definitely be investing in future adventures. Worth every cent.

Just finished my first runthrough as a Forge Domain Cleric. I know it says not to use unearthed arcana, but I couldn't help myself and there wasn't any weird effects.

I LOVED IT! I took a pretty direct route and finished in about 1.5-2 hours, but I know that there is tns of content that I didn't get to and I'll be running this again when I decide on a new character to roll up.

To the Author, thank you for creating this. There is absolutely a demand for this type of product and I'll be purchasing any sequels for sure.
