This my first taste into a published solo adventure and this review is not necessarily about the content, which is fantastic, but more about discovering I am personally not a fan of solo adventures. I only have one play through so I will give it another run with a different character and perhaps I may change my sentiment. I definitely have no regrets with the purchase and think the story is great (I may use it for a future one-shot session with youngsters) but I still prefer the classic table top experience (which is what most of us like, right?). That said, if you like "choose your own adventures" style of play, this will definitely be well received.

Well written adventure. The hyperlinked PDF file works great. The included maps and figures are professionally drawn.

This module is fantastic! Honestly just buy the 4 pack that includes this module, you won't regret it. Highlights include a very clear story and purpose, very well-balanced and interesting encounters, a large amount of content with replayability and and very well-structured solo game experience. You get good 1" grid game maps to print out, some free exploration, interesting combats and encounters, a somewhat non-linear experience and an exceptionally well-structured solo gamebook. There are many ways to structure a solo gamebook, this is the best I've seen.

Terrific adventure! Much better than I expected for a solo DM-less adventure! My arcana cleric, however, hasn't survived after three tries. Think it's time to roll up a new character!

It was my first DnD solo adventure and I loved it! The story is engaging and I think I've explored most of the setting before heading to BBEG. First playthrough took me about 3,5 hours and I'm going to do a second one just to see what I missed. I went in with a tempest cleric (a tank with solid damage and access to healing) because I get scared easily and the fights were relatively easy but still challenging when the dice decided to hate me. I only ran into one bug in the pdf but it was easy to deal with and it didn't spoil my enjoyment of the game. The art is very pretty and helps set up the atmosphere.

I think that the overall concept is pretty good and the storyline is engaging but the writing style varies drastically in tone and the branching story is not handled as well as you'd hope. I also found the combat with the end boss to be very poorly laid out.

Equal parts "Choose Your Own Adventure" book and Dungeons & Dragons, TDKS is a charming and fun adventure to run a new character through for testing purposes, practice your DM skills or to just have fun! Ultimately, it is fun which is always the main goal. I've ran through this twice with two different characters and found there's a lot of replayability. There are some sections I haven't tried yet and some things I haven't found; however, you do retread a lot of the same ground in doing so. Some of the writing is sporatic as well leading to some odd shifts in time or conversations. Though the writer tries to put in options for different classes, they obviously can't which leads to linear paths. Overall, it's a fun jaunt for a solo player!

It’s a fun concept, and clearly created with passion, but my enjoyment of it was spoiled by a barrage of bugs and errors. In addition to many little inconsistencies in the rules and writing, the narration tends to make no sense if you took a different route than the writer anticipated, causing the time of day to change erratically. There is also one major scene that the player is likely to experience twice in a row, because it can be accessed in two ways and the book does nothing to stop you from engaging with both. It makes it hard to believe that this book was playtested at all. I suspect that the sequels will be better, since this is a first attempt after all, but spending $10 on the next book to find out is a tough sell.

A wonderful adventure for a DM that rarely is able to play... I ran with 2 1st level character (Wizard & Mystic) instead of the recommendation of running just a 2nd level character... this made for a delightfully challenging adventure with minimal adjustments required while minimizing the possibility of a horrible PC death and dismemberment.

I had to run it twice in order to successfully complete the adventure and increase from 1st level to 2nd level, but left a chunk of the adventure area unexplored due to there being no challenge with 2 PCs at 2nd level.

This is a really good solo adventure. Challenging which I think is a plus. I was skeptical about solo adventures and this was my first foray. This adventure is well organized with an engaging storyline. I recommend it.

Enjoyed it very much. Ran it with two players the first time, and unfortunately died pretty early on. Then ran it with just myself and it was fun. We then ran it again with two players and made it all the way to the end, though not with the intended ending we had hoped for. And all three times gave a different experience, so there is some replayability to it. Plan on getting the rest in the series for sure.

This was a great start to a solo adventurer campaign. Really good time just playing solo. I even kept a journal going through the adventure.

I played through this campaign 3 times already, even though I died the first time with my wizard. The second run I succeeded with my new Paladin, which was a lot tankier to take on battles in a 1vs1 in comparison to my wizard. Nevertheless, it was both times really enjoyable. The 3th time I ran this adventure for 2 persons and they enjoyed it as much as I did. The replayability of this is also great, where each time I stumbled onto something new, that I hadn't discovered yet.

I loved playing through this, though my lvl 2 dragonborn paladin felt a bit too strong. The Death Knight's hp on INITWON differs from his HP on the other entries (32 vs 28) Also, i got lucky with my rolls and managed to kill him in round 2, before the link to victory becomes available. (divine smite for 3d8+5 dmg can do that)

Still, as a DM who never gets to play: Thank you for making this. I'll play through it a few more times as other classes, and proceed to the next adventure as well.
