Besides the occasional "it would be cool if" thoughts about playing an actual animal in 5e D&D, I never gave it much thought until I saw a chance to enter a small contest and win this PDF. I didn't think I'd actually win, but I mind immediatly started thinking of all the possibilites. When I did win, I couldn't wait to crack the book (or rather PDF) open and read it from start to finish. This is a really well thought out sourcebook. The author did an amazing job in making a bear something that people would want to play, even people who would at first be skeptical. The mechanics feel very balanced, the lore and backgrounds are creative and interesting, and the division between the two races and their respective subraces is something I never would have considered. Heck, I didn't even know a kodiak bear was an actual thing until I read this book! To the author: keep it up! I'm looking forward to more products from you.
PS: There are just a few grammatical and/or spelling mistakes, but that in no way turned me away from this awesome PDF.
