We spent several hours rolling up random characters with included backgrounds for Shadowdark, and it was a blast! It's like a mini-game. Highly recommend if giving your characters some backstory is your thing.

I will try to not repeat what others have said. But saying that, this is a great introduction to OSR material for 5E players, and the fact that there are so many character options yet you can use any OSR material with it is amazing! Thank you Mr. Crawford.

I am a little late getting on the SW train, but glad I finally did. This is a great system. Definitely worth getting.

I like having more options for such a great game. For the price point, you can't go wrong. You will find at least something in here that you will want to use when creating characters.

I like the layout of it, and have used it for several of my other OSR games such as Scarlet Heroes and Shadowdark.

I have these saved in a folder labeled "best sheets" because I use them all the time.

Great addition to the Mutant Bestiary One. Can never have too many creatures to kill...err challenge your excavators.

There's not much more I can write that other reviewers haven't already covered. But suffice it to say, this is one of the most fun games me and my wife have played. And I plan on using it to solo play quite a bit as well. If you are looking for a PA game, this is the best one I've come across so far.

This is a big book. It is full of ideas and plothooks for your TME games, I would say that this along with the core book and the mutant bestiary are your core books. And full of random tables, which I love. Definitely worth getting for inspiration and ideas if you play TME.

I love the mood of the game. It doesn't take itself too seriously. There are some editing issues and it could benefit from better art inside, but for what it's trying to convey it works. It reminds me of a lot of the third party publishing stuff from the late eighties/ early nineties. Your group can fly to one island and wrangle dinosaurs, then fly to another and salvage through a post-apocalyptic wasteland dodging murderous robots, and then land on another and get roped into robbing a train. All the while trying to dodge air pirates. Love it! If you are looking for a laid back setting to use for your favorite RPG system (I'm using Savage Worlds) and just want to play some pulpy, episodic, multi-genre escapades, then you should seriously give this a look. Here's to hoping that Tri Tac Games supports this more.

Thank you for your kind review. Hardwired Hinterland 2nd Edition was our first major project following the passing of Richard Tucholka.
Tri Tac is always looking for fresh material for our line of RPGs, we encourage submissions! |

I have played quite a few solo adventures, both published and using a GM emulator, and Eight Petals Argent was very good. The amount of encounters and the ticking clock aspect of it worked better then what I was expecting. I am now getting ready to run it with my wife as a two character adventure. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because there were some parts that were a little confusing to understand. Recommended if you enjoy solo adventures.

I must say that for something that is just "fluff" and not rules, it is extremely helpful. It made for an interesting read, and gave me all kinds of ideas for my campaign. Looking forward to more content from this author. Like others have stated, I am printing this off as a handout for my players, it's that good.

I really like the look of these sheets, especially the fact that I can have my character illustration on the front page. Highly recommended, and very cool!

I've been playing DCC for years now (since I backed the 4th printing kickstarter) and this game is infinitely hackable. It is hands down my favorite OSR style game, and I've combined dozens of other OSR game material with it during play including things like the Cthulhu Hack and Stars Without Number. It's awesome!

My wife and I played through this together, using the adjustments in the book for two players. It made for a very entertaining evening, taking about 2 1/2 hours to complete. The combat encounters were challenging but not overly deadly, but some of the skill challenges had us sweating. I would say that when I run this solo with just one character it will prove much more difficult. I can't remember running into any grammatical mistakes, very well edited. It had a very fantastical feel, if that makes any sense, and we both enjoyed it immensely. We highly recommend it as a starting point for both a solo or duet campaign, it is well worth the price.
