A terrific collection of useful .pdfs for the busy DM/GM who uses D20. Hell if you're stuck in 2nd or 1st edition, the material can work just as well. Simply tweak it a bit.

While I'm not the worlds most gifted nor creative GM, I still enjoy the ideas these other folks offer up. These take me back to the days when I'd scour the Net looking for the "Net Book of Spells" or "Net Book of Traps" and the like which was nothing more than contributions from other GMs.

<br><br><b>LIKED</b>: Tons of ideas all at your fingertips.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: No complaints. Everything downloaded properly and printed off acceptably smooth on my HP laser printer.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Excellent<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Very Satisfied<br>

I found the spellbooks set to be the best of the 3 in this bundle. They were imaginative and descriptive... and in many ways far more useful to a treasure hunter than many more typical artifacts. Many also open new paths to other adventures through either their content or origins.

The mundane treasures were also excellent, for those of us who like to keep the level of magic in our campaigns from overflowing, and for those who are sticklers for things like encumberence and space (really... a dragon horde looks impressive, but how are you going to take all those coins anyplace? That shining silver dress on the other hand could be stuffed in the bottom of a bag, and might fetch a nice price in town...)

The spell components were an interesting approach, but it seems that they would best serve a DM who is not only very comfortable with their grasp of the system details, but also judicious about their availability. I can see where in the wrong setting or world, they could be very overbalancing.

Finally, in reference to a previous review, the revisions appear to have fixed the spelling errors that he said were rampant at the time he purchased it. They did not, however, alter the Table of Contents from the regular file to the print file, despite the inherent page reduction. So be aware on the print version that the Table is no longer applicable. <br><br><b>LIKED</b>: There were a lot of good ideas, and (especially with the books) some nice detail and development. The bundle as a whole was a good money saver over the individual books. If you're planning to get any 2 of these 3 items, you may as well get the collection.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: It seemed that the author was under some sort of time or space constraint. I understand that the theme of the series is "101," but in many cases, especially with the Mundane Items, I would have liked to see a good deal more story or background on some of the items... even if it meant having less of them to choose from. It did sometimes feel as if a few less interesting items were thrown in just to hit the 101 mark.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Acceptable<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

One of our most-used d20 products. This is terrific for any DM wanting to spice up a treasure horde.

Extremely useful. I purchased this during GM appreciation week for about 1/2 price and it's full of useful material. Includes several different layouts for screen viewing and printing. As usual with Ronin Arts, the art is top notch.

[Note: Brief comments, which I'll try to expand upon later.]

I am extremely disappointed in the "101 Collection". While the ideas are great and the production values are top-notch (read: great art, nice layout), the lack of attention to detail -- especially mechanical detail -- is terrible.

All of the 101 products in the collection are rife with spelling errors, apparent Find/Replace errors introduced upon conversion to 3.5, and sloppy interpretation of the rules (e.g., questionably low Appraise check DCs for what are obviously not mundane items). There are also some extremely powerful magical items with limp attempts at drawbacks -- the sort of things that min/max'ers can make into a nightmare.

So what you end up with is a wide-ranging collection of nifty treasures and spellbooks, but you're going to have to do a lot of game mechanical cleanup before you can insert them into your game. sigh I pay money for d20 products to SAVE me time, not cause me to spend more of it. Oh well.

I had been thinking of trying out the 101 series for some time and this bundle got me to try it. I am glad I did as its really a good value. It comes with 2 version: a color version and a printer friendly black and white version. That is much appreciated. In some suppliments authors add in 2 versions of a suppliment to pad up the page count. Not so with the 101 series. Each entry has enough information to expand on and use in your campaign without goinging into too much detail to not fit into your game.

These are great- just what I've been looking for. For my low-level campaign, I'd like to hand out the weapons of heroes without making them epic magic items. Here, I have just the means. The spellbooks are fantastic- wonderful things to have lying around. You can almost imagine Elminster browsing his library and putting on gauntlets to protect himself. The spell components are another interesting idea- I'll certainly try to use those!

I'm not going to write a long winded review here, it doesn't need one. I'll just say that if you're playing/running a d20 Fantasy game (I believe that something called "D&D" is quite popular) then you should own this. Buy it now.

Every GM should spend the money to get this collection. Each of the three titles is useful by itself, but when all three are combined they lend a natural feel to any campaign. Players will be excited about gaining a pair of boots, or finding a unique gem. Phil Reed has written a wonderful product that can be used throughout any game system.

This is a great idea, it adds something to a magic system that over the years has sort of lost any flavor, makes the act of casting spells... well... magical.

Well-done layout. Will provide some decent source material for my Savage Worlds games. I don't know about it's utility for D20 as I don't play that system, but it's great as source material for SW, FUDGE, GURPS, and Tri-Stat Dx.

This is a superb game resource, well worth the very low price. It's already adding much-needed colour to my campaign, as well as the odd surprise for my players. The additional material (ffeats, spells, poisons etc) is well thought out and seems reasonably balanced. There is absolutely no reason for you not to have these resources in your DM'ing kit.

If I have a complaint at all, it's that the spell component book could probably do with an index. Every monster that my players kill now, they want to look up whether it can be used as a metamagic-style booster - sorting the book by monsters as well as school/effect would be useful.

That said, it's perfectly useable as it is, and I have rated the 101 Collection as one of the best game resources I've seen to date. Great work!
