This is a great guide for new players (and sometimes to remind some experienced players!). I always have at least one print of this on my table, just in case I need to quickly clarify something during combat.
I am part of a local gaming club that holds regular events for new players and this page guide is a fantastic breakdown of what exactly can be done in a round of combat. It is easy to reference and is useful for brand new players and people who are returning to the game after 30 years. If you run a D&D club or regularly find that you are teaching the game this guide is a fantastic resource you can hand out to help people feel more comfortable.
This has saved my bacon on more than one occasion, helping the players to understand your turn is not "Run, Drink a potion, Attack, Bonus, Pickup a 300# stone, Tie a rope to it, Attack, Spell, Dont I get a full turn from Action Surge ... "
This is a HUGE help for my new groups. I have a custom DM Screen I use when DMing with new players, and this is laminated and attached to the player side of the screen for all to see.
I help run kids D&D sessions and this chart is amazingly helpful for new players! I always print a bunch out so they can refrence it during combat. This makes combat smoother and helps new players!!!
Whether I’m running a game in person or via VTT, my players get a copy of this. It remains the quintessential reference for myself as both a player and a DM.
Very useful. I used this with our lunch-hour group at work as we started out. The breakdown of the four main components of a player's turn is useful, but the expansion of what are valid Actions and what are example Interactions is great. Thanks!
I play with kids around 11 to 16 with 5th edition as an after school program at my library, and one of my biggest ways to getting them to understanding the game was through this chart. This is an incredibly useful for them to figure out what to do each particullar turn. the only thing i would do to improve is making an action come in 4 colors for each turn response, as to better femilerise the action with the task. (ea: green for movement, red for actions, yellow for interactions and blue for bonus actions. )
This is without a doubt one of the best tools ive seen for this game.
