it is a good class but it's kinda hard to understand and get going

Very well thought out and well balanced. It feels very different from the "official" classes, which is refreshing! There are so many options, but none feel under or overpowered compared to the others. Highly recommended for a "Golden Compass"-like character.

A very interesting Class concept (I'm particularly fond of the Beast Emergent, since it reminds me of The Golden Compass universe) and one that clearly was well thought out and has a lot of blood, sweat and tears behind it. It is very complete, it has a lot of different class options and is balanced enough that I never had a DM complain about me using Homebrew content when I play this class.

I am in love with so many of the OAP classes, but this one is the next on my list to play, absolutely! I love the story this tells, the way it all works, and how much fun it just seems to play this class. It is so incredibly creative, and avoids my biggest pet peeve in 5th edition classes: restricted imaginations. You can make so many different kind of characters as an Emergent, and I am in love with it.

Absolutely, 100%, buy this class, add it to your game. It is in no way overpowered, incredibly well balanced as an "options" class to be tailored to fill any hole in a party. Cannot recommend enough.

Praise: I found the Emergent class to be very well executed. The themes and rationales are clearly communicated through the fluff and mechanics. It is flavorful, fun, and very reminiscent of the Stand mechanics originating in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga and anime. I personally felt that having both character and incarnation share a pool of hit points and clearly defining how those interact with AoE and multi-target spells was particularly inspired.

For the price of "free if you want" this is a supreme deal and I will be investigating some of this writer's other material in the near future.

Update: the most recent update to the Emergent clarifies some of the language and eliminates some of the more problematic abilities (Sad as I was to see a full complement of beholder eye rays go...). It appears more streamlined and with some of the new features that impact the character when the Incarnation isn't manifested, it models JoJo Stand's even better. I have upgraded my review from 4 to 5 stars for the fixes or from 8 to 10 hours of ORA ORA ORA!
