This was such a fun module! Pirates, shipwreck and dinos; oh, my! As much fun as my players had, I think I had even more fun. While they played survival I got to play with the best mobs and some really fun NPCs. I really like how multiple "landing" sites were given and the whole island was populated with a wide variety of encounters. It is very well written and planned out sand-box style with tie-ins.
One of my players played LG character whom I put in charge of escorting the NPC Raven. He spent most of the adventure worrying and looking for her so it was a really good hook! :)
This module leaves off with a semi-wrap up. As I understand, the second yet-to-be-released module that continues after this one will have more closure, continuing the island-war and elaborating on clues left unresolved in this module. I look forward to running it!
This time I transitioned to Tomb of Annihilation; I chose to leave the main NPC behind to help the natives and had the adventurers sail [a patched-up ship] to the mainland of Chult to look for a way to get back home. Some of the islanders who accompanied them (to sail the ship) began to sucomb to the unexplained Death Curse onboard and freaked the adventurers out.
