Partial Spoilers Below:

This was an underwater adventure where the underwater rules, plus exhaustion for pressure from deep water, caused major problems. One player ended up with 4 levels of exhaustion. I didn't make that player make the exhaustion rolls on the way back up from the trench the majority of the adventure takes place in.

Like the previous part of this series, the combat was tough to very tough. Two of the three fights had a situation where the fight came down to an open DM roll on whether the PCs would survive or not. Better tacticians or character balance would have helped, but make no mistake, this series goes for the throat.

There is an optional encounter after the climax. It seems out of place and needless padding. However, it also brings the XP up. If you have the time for it, I would place it in a more appropriate place. Action post-climax just doesn't feel right most of the time.

Was it fun? For a combat heavy party, yes. There's a roleplay encounter that can turn into combat if the party murder hobos or their exhaustion screws them up, which happened here. I don't know how a RP titled party would fare.

Moor Trouble was a definite flop with my playgroup. The combats, like SALT 1-1, were reasonably balanced, but the party was very disappointed with the ending. They felt that the cliffhanger fell flat, to the point that they have little interest in doing the finale. I still might purchase the finale, but that's more because we are running AL weekly and are often looking for something new to run.

Without the ending, it's mediocre. With the ending, my opinion falls to negative.

This is a rather unremarkable module. When I read it after purchase, I was underwhelmed. It's a road trip module, and seemed rather humdrum. When I ran it, the players liked that there were possible hooks in several places in the mod, presumably for the rest of the series, and the combats were very well balanced. Three of the seven players were unconscious at some point in the final encounter, leading to a tense finish.

There are random rolls for encounters, but I'd suggest the DM pick what works best for their party. I actually combined two of the opening encounters into one.

It's hard for me to give a positive review, given the paint by numbers feel of the module, but the players enjoyed it and the difficulty was spot on.

This module is absolute trash. A competent mid tier two party could handle the module as written, let alone a tier three. There's absolutely no challenge, and even if the DM reskins Strahd as the final boss it would be too easy.

If I had not recieved a free copy thanks to a playtest, these might have been the first mainline AL adventures that our store would have skipped. The sole reason to purchase and run these are for the Season 5 DM quests. Unless you're dead set on an aarakocra, stay far, far away.
