Well, if you bought the Babbage edition here and know your way around the D20 Modern rules, this may not be the best purchase. Just about everything I needed to make the maps that I wanted. That is probably pretty vague for most of you; I'd suggest getting this and some of the additional add-on symbol packs. The interface is a bit odd at first but within a few days and after reading the Tome of Ultimate Mapping I was hooked. The product offers a good alternative view of Pulp gaming for those who have entered the genre through Hero, Adventure or other lines. Great stuff if you want to run a "straight from the pulps" adventure. Time saving and much less of a chore than thumbing for hours through the book when generating a character. It also provides a nice system of checks and balances to insure requirements for the class and feats are met. <br><br> <b>LIKED</b>: Easy to use and helps to catch errors.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: Access to the site was sporadic and I needed to "save as I went" after having 4 or 5 characters lost due to access drops. I'm 60/40 for this product, but as I have no distinct reasons why I wasn't totally impressed, I'll give you the plus side...

This supplement provided a nice transition from historical fact to d20 stats but seemed a bit lacking in overall content. The layout and artwork are great, and the Mercenary class stat blocks will come in handy if you are planning on running a Roman or mediterranean campaign. I am probably goint to integrate aspects of this into a Roma (Iridium System) campaign in the near future.

Additionally, I'd say that if you have access to a decent history book (or Wikipedia)and have moderate GM experience you could probably use this information to develop or adapt an existing adventure over to a north african or mediterranean campaign in a few hours. So it is useful as a springboard to larger individualized work.

Simply wonderful! A source book which provides a smooth combination of historical information with an arcane twist. The contents are easily transferable to alternate gaming rule systems and the Iridium System itself is easy to use and clearly defined.
