I ran this adventure over the course of several sessions and my group loved it! The premise to this adventure is excellent, and there are social/combat encounters with room for plenty of skill challenges to be inserted. I have ran 2 other adventures by Winghorn Press - the wild sheep chase and a most potent brew and all of them were well written and enjoyed by my group.

My suggestion to any DM planning on running this adventure would be to familarize yourself with the weapons found in the armory beforehand (perhaps add some to fit your player's class), and to avoid using the premade level 20 characters suggested as they were a bit underpowered.

My only real critiques for this adventure are that some of the art did not match descriptions in the adventure, and the portal room was a bit confusing to run and will probably require some homebrew/hand-waving element.

This is by far one of the best one shots I have ever run. I am going to create terrain and minis for this, along with digital maps, and run it at my convention each year!

If you've got a party of Tier 4 players and need a challenge for them, you could do worse than this. My players enjoyed it, and I found it easy to tweak to adapt to my campaign.

Tthis was a lot of fun to run and play! i had a table of 6 PCs so even scaling up the difficulty they found some of the direct combat challenges pretty easy, but that just helped them feel more powerful. Also level 20 characters will surprise you, so I recommend being ready to just make some stuff up as you go.

I loved it, my players loved it, and I haven't really had a bad experience running this. If you or your group are wanting to try out high-level play, but never seem to find the time to level from 1-20, this adventure is suprisingly deep for a one-shot. I seriously can't recommend this enough.

Fantastic adventure for a one-shot. I ran it for a few players that have an ongoing campaign with me for about 6 months and wanted to give epic-tier gameplay a shot. The themes around this adventure were incredible, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the writing, the variance in fights (some against high CR low number baddies, others against mooks that the players can wipe out in drothes), and of course the ending is touching, if you have a close-knit group of players, it's an emotional roller-coaster knowing they saved the world, but realizing the cost that came with it.

Spoiler below for those who are reading:

My players were shocked when the Solar revealed that the heroes would just be wiped away from all memory, and at first they hesitated whether or not they should fight on. It was great to see that conflict!

A few things I would recommend if you have a party of level 17-20, upgrade the young brass Dragons to maybe adult, I tried running them as adults the second time I ran the session and it made the fight much more intense but it went well. The players got a real sense of fighting not just one legendary creature, but multiple.

For the Solar, if you look on Reddit or just search Solar Compendium into google, it is a homebrew of several high-CR Solars of different themes, I used one of them and it made the fight even more epic.

Ran this adventure in a single 7-hour session, but it was so enjoyable that I didn't realize how long we'd been playing. We ran four PCs and everyone loved playing the 20th level characters. There was some discussion regarding the logistics of the Wondrous Hourglass until DM fiat was "it puts you into a different timestream so that you get an hour's rest but only six seconds pass in the regular timestream for everyone within 20' of the hourglass" (so I had them lose one round when they used one in combat).

The PDF was laid out nicely and the unique monsters felt very unique.

Very enjoyable overall and I recommend it if you are looking for an interesting adventure for high-level characters.

[MILD SPOIILERS BELOW]

  • The Elder Being's warping of rules of physics and reality was really entertaining. The monk even used the "you become a magnet" to his beneit when he caught the ranger's spear and flung it at the Being.
  • We ended up out in the weeds for some time on understanding Tempani's motivations for her plan, but it may have just been this particular group was interested in the paradoxes and (il)logic of ending time to stave off apocalypse (end the world so that no one else can end the world?).

Longer than a 1 shot for my group (10-12 hrs total run time) but a lot of fun. Made a few adjustments and made thigns stronger because my party looked to be stomping. A few minor tooltip errors and sadly no high resolution maps to use for online sources, but a great lvl 20 campaign for 4-5 people. Has some good guidelines for making thigns mroe challenge. Players loved it because most campaigns dont reach level 20 so they got to be crazy strong characters and had a blast. Would run again!
