Ok, this is really a great little product. This is particularly true in the realm of information delivery and organization. It also hAS some tables (I am thinking of the patches table) that are just wonderfully evocative of tthe atmosphere sought. I strongly recommend it with two caveats. The first is that it is a sc-fi HORROR game and the mechanics (stress/panic, the deadliness of combat, and the experince point system) all emphasize the horror/hopeless aspect. if you want a more general game in thsi sort of near future setting, I would look to the original GDW 2300AD or perhaps one of the Cepheus Engine/Traveller near future games. This focus mitigates toward one shots, I think. Likely incredibly fun one shots, but one shots. The second is that despite the atmosphere this players' guide feels incomplete: No opponents (human or otehrwise) and no setting beyond the obvious inspirations. I know that the publishers/writers have mentioned online a Game master's book is coming, and Dead Planet is already out, but for now, it is more likely to be used as an adjunct to other systems (in both directions as I could see importing elements of thsi into other games, and elements (i.e. monsters and scenarios) of other games[Call of Cthulhu and Delta Green, I am looking at you]into this).
Overall, a great little game hioefully early in its life.

An excellent supplement, and within its limits, perhaps the most easily approachable of the Hunter supplements. It's problem is the lack of flexibility inherent in Witch design under the magic system portrayed. This is a trade-off for avoiding the complexity of MAGE.
Overall, it is well written, coherent, and has few head scratching or reread moments compared to say Spirit Slayers

This is easily one of the two or three best supplements for Hunter. It gives a good outline, backed by real world and entirely fictional examples of how to build a city for Hunter, The rapport system is excellent and illustrated to good advantage with the use of relationships amongst changhelings, vampires, mages, werewolves, slashers. The city described could easily be fleshed out to a campaign of urban control and politics. A great read and well worth the price.

This novel by Dennis Detwiller does one thing almost insanely well: it captures the feel of the Delta Green universe with its lack of good options and creeping insanity spiced with foolishness on the part of the actors.
It also does a wonderful job of intergrating Delta Green into Lovecraft's work via clear ties to at least two of the better known of Lovecraft's stories.
It does have some problems. First, there is the issue of typos and sloppy editing both of which are easily fixed, and spould have been before publication. Secondly, the characters are too often interchangible with little to make them seem alive. Oddly, the Nazis seem on avaerage better fleshed out than the OSS/Delta Green leads.
In the end, these issues are outweighed by the simply fact that it's a fun read, a real and serious page turner.

This is a well-crafted and well written product. Despite not being a dice pool system fan, the game mechanics are elegant and flexible enough for most situations.
Perhaps the most striking thing is the wonderful senseofatmosphere that the game communicates.
My one complaint, and what loses this a star is a real lack of anatgonists that aren't either incorporeal or demonic. A few more tangible anatgonists would be useful.

This is simply great. It is a tremendous game.

Overall, an interesting product with well developed characters. It's counter-intuitive (at least to me) internal organization is its only real downside.

See below for my comments and my rating of this supplement.

LIKED: It is very well researched, well written, and useful in that it gives a good view of the differences between the Jungles of New Guinea and the hedgerows of France.

DISLIKED: A lack of real usable information about Japanese talents. A wrie-up or two would have been very useful. The lack of this information drags down the product's rating.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Satisfied
This is simply a great product and it makes an interesting and useful companion for Blackwyrm's Fires of War. For a GM interested in staging adventures or a full campaign in the World War II era, and being true to the comic book concepts of the time, if not all of its slightly off the wall nature, this is the book.

LIKED: The depth of research and knowledge displayed concerning the era in question. The fact that the archetypes included not just a Captain America and Sandman homage, but one to Sgt. Rock as well. Also, the mass combat system was remarkable well done. The Golden Age of the Freedom City universe is also quite well done.

DISLIKED: Perhaps too much emphasis on all of the Comic Book concepts and conceits of the era. Put another way, there is a lot of information about running a Golden Age campaign that looks just like a Golden Age comic book. I just am not certain that even a gaming group deeply interested in running superheroes in this era will be keen to do this, at this level of detail.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Over all well done, if seemingly not as complete as "Fires of War"

LIKED: The character PL mix, the time and care put into thinking the characters through. Also, it is a good mix of types of characters and backgrounds. Few obvious homages are present, and in their place is a high level of creavtivity.

Good source book of characters of an interesting age and not overwhelming PLs.
The art is also to be greatly admired.

LIKED: Almost everything, but particularly the timeline information in the appendix.

DISLIKED: If I had to come up with something, it would likely be that it was too short.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Let me start by saying, I like this adventure for a number of reasons. The most prominent being the true pulp feel of the plot line and NPCs. Also, the 'monsters' in the adventure are right out of a pulp magazine: not too over the top, but unusual enough to frighten players not expecting an encounter.
If I have concerns they arise from the very low key level of detail, there is a lot to fill in for a GM in this adventure. I am certain that this is an intention effort to allow it to be used in almost anyone's pulp campaign. However, it does leave the adventure with a slightly undetailed feel at times.
All in all, a way above average product in the world of short Pulp adventures.

This is just done well on all counts. In the RPG industry, that is a mjor accomplishment. See below for specifics.

LIKED: The tone, it was exactly the right for the genre. The line about Zepplins was particularly amusing. Also found the NPCs provided to be exceptionally useful. Beyond that, it was executed in a confident, clear manner.

DISLIKED: Well, I think that there could have been a little more in the way of Nazi specific weapons and equipment.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
